Default [Website limit] JD2 does not grab 720p/1080p links from xvideos.com

I have enabled Prefer HLS Download and quality set to 1080p but this does not seem to have any effect. Linkgrabber still only grabs videos at upto 360p.

Only workaround is to manually open the video in web browser and copy the 720p/1080p HLS stream link with Video DownloadHelper. But this is too much work when you want to grab entire profile's worth of videos.

Xvideos may sometimes block users if they download "too much" and then deliver a max. quality of 480p or lower.

You can try the following:
1. Check which qualities you can stream via browser.
If you are using a VPN/proxy in JD/browser, make sure you re using the same via browser.
Also you may try to turn off that VPN/proxy and try again.

2. See Settings -> Plugins -> xvideos.com -> Enable setting "Try to recognize limit" --> Reset your downloads and try again.

In case you've reached that limit:
Get a new IP and try again.

I can easily stream 720p/1080p via browser both with or without vpn. I only tried to download 2-3 videos at a time and they all showed in 360p in jd2 so don't think I've hit a rate limit with such low amount of videos.
I tried with several different IPs with no avail. Recognize rate limit function does not seem to do anything for me.

Below is a 1080p video but linkgrabber only shows 360p
**External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff**

All videos from this channel is grabbed at 360p -- **External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff**

I have to manually copy the 1080p HLS url with Video DownloadHelper for linkgrabber to show 1080p. Infact every 720p and above video have this issue.

Please create a debug log. Enable Setting->Advanced Settings->Log.debugmodeenabled and restart JDownloader, now add your link(single videos, not folder, to keep log small) and when it fails to add correct video, then create a log, see https://support.jdownloader.org/Know...d-session-logs
and post shown logID here

I've checked 5 links...all them show up as 720p or 1080p in the browser somehow only 360p in jd2. I've attached the log.

31.05.21 22.26.42 <--> 31.05.21 22.31.55 jdlog://6972825302851/

Strange!
Your log looks like a typical log of a user who is currently blocked by xvideos.com and thus can only view/download low quality videos.

Please enable Settings -> Plugins -> xvideos.com -> "Try to recognize limit" and see if you are able to download any content of xvideos.com without the error "Low quality block active".

Here are some possible reasons for this:
  • You really got blocked by xvideos -> Change your IP
  • You're using another IP in JD than you are in browser -> Disable your proxy/VPN
  • xvideos.com has a new "videoplayer" which we're not yet supporting (maybe based on the users' country/IP)

Jiaz will have a look at your log as well tomorrow but I'm out of ideas for now.

Your comment just made me realize that I was running a http proxy server but did not know that I had to manually add it to jd2 in connection manager which was why my browser and jd2 were assuming different IPs.

Now that I have add the http proxy in jd2 every video is being added correctly although somehow the reconnect tab still shows the IP from my ISP instead of the one from my vpn/proxy.

So the issue was indeed a block of xvideos.com?!

Thanks for your feedback!
