I have a problem I need help with. I download alot of magazines from DownMagaz and use LinkSnappy. But LinkSnappy does this annoying thing where it only can put out a certain number of characters for a filename and stops after that which leads any files with medium or long names to all be named the same thing even though every single file is actually different. (See image)
I need to fix this using packagizer but I've tried a few folks recommendations already (see screenshots) and none of them did absolutely anything whatsoever. I have to go and click on every one of the files indicidually after adding to JDL2 and change the filenames that way which is BEYOND annoying. Can someone please help and/or give me word for word exactly what to put into a packagizer rule to overcome this problem? It would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hi,
beofre I'm even going into this topic: You are aware that you can skip the step of manually adding the file hoster links to linksnappy and then downloading the generated direct-links with JD but all you need to do is to add your LS account to JDownloader so then supported file host links (e.g. turbobit.net) will automatically be downloaded via linksnappy? That would also save you another step since JDownloader eben has a crawler plugin for website "downmangaz". This may already solve your issue since then, the file name will be used from the source filehost so in case linksnappy is doing this "..." trimming, that would be gone then. Then s small addendum, if the trinnim comes from linksnappy: Did you already contact their support and ask them to remove that trimming? Those file names look to be far away from an OS file name limitations aka they do not look to be super long. Just in case that does not already solve your problem, continue reading: Then about your attempts to rename those files via Packagizer rule: Your attempt is wrong because: - <jd:indexof> returns the index of the item within the package. In the tester-envoronment, there is no package available. See our docs: https://support.jdownloader.org/know...the-packagizer The "crap" you see is the correct test-result. Just in case you do for some reason no want to use LS in the proper way I described at the beginning of this post: Why are you not just using the auto rename feature? See Settings -> General -> If the file already exists -> Auto rename

@veezylife: I recommend to use JDownloader as it is meant to be used and not do all that manual work by yourself but automate it with JDownloader. That way JDownloader can also refresh expired links, provide better error handling and much more.
