For the last week (since Rapidgator had some intermittent server issues), JD only downloads 1 Rapidgator fil per 24 hours. The website links still say they're limited to 1 DL per 120 minutes.
After 1 download, JD says "You have reached your hourly download limit" as usual and counts down 120 minutes. However, after 120 minutes, it displays the same message... until 24 hours later. 08.12.23 08.52.44 <--> 08.12.23 08.52.40 jdlog://0159311370661/ |

I should mention that, after the 120 minute countdown, JD prompts for a new captcha, but then just goes back to the same message and countdown.

I finally see the issue: I observed JD after I solved the captcha; after the captcha, JD counts down to the download (about 1.5 minutes), then displays: "error in pre download step #2 | state: error" and then moves to the next file in the cue, and then displays "You have reached your hourly download limit" on all of them!

UPDATE: JD has not downloaded even a single Rapidgator file in the cue in over a week (but works for all other hosts). It just repeats the "error in pre download step #2 | state: error" message.

is it possible that it's because Rapidgator uses a new type of captcha? When the captcha popup appears, it prompts you to press "Play" to reveal the phrase you must enter.

Works fine here.
JDownloader does allow multiple simultaneous free downloads for RG and it will waikt the required 120 minutes in between. Please post a screenshot of your rapidgator plugin settings.

Thank you for looking into it! JD has not downloaded a single file from Rapidgator in a couple of weeks.

This post is solely about the error message "error in pre download step #2":
That is really strange. I can see the problem in your log but I can't reproduce here. A while ago I've added an optimization which basically lets you solve the captcha while the serverside waittime is already running. It's still working fine here and we got zero reports about problems but this is what might be failing on your side. Can you download without problems via browser? Are you using a VPN? Did you maybe change your IP while JDownloader was waiting the pre-download wait time?

Can you download without problems via browser? Yes! However, if I first used JD and it runs into the "errorstep2" issue, then I have to wait 120 minutes, as it obviously triggers the wait time between downloads. It's almost as if that error makes Rapidgator think it initiated a download. Are you using a VPN? No! Did you maybe change your IP while JDownloader was waiting the pre-download wait time? No! IP has not changed! :w00t: |

Also, I don't know if this is of any interest:
The captcha through JD is the old school captcha, where it just prompts you to type the words you see in the popup window. But when I do it manually, the popup window asks me to press "play" to reveal the word. Maybe that makes a difference? |

That is still the same SolveMedia captcha that I have.
I got no clue what could cause the problem so for testing, I''ve disabled the time-optimization. Please test if it's working fine again for you after installing the next update. Did my change lead to any change of the rapidgator plugins' behavior on your side?

You haven't provided any feedback so I've re-enabled my rapidgator time-optimizations for the next update.

sorry about that. Got side-tracked! The problem is not resolved. However, I found a workaround.
The problem seems to stem from rapidgator redirecting the links to x.rapidgator.net for each download (with x = any random number preceded by s, e.g. s103.rapidgator.net; s75.rapidgator.net, etc.). If I temporarily deactivate my "malicious content filter" on my DECO app for my router when jdownloader prompts me for the captcha, it lets me download the file. Interestingly, when I reactivate the filter after the download starts, it does not stop the download. so, I'm pretty sure there's nothing you can do on your end. |

Looks like this problem is back. For the last 3 days Rapidgator just repeats "You have reached your hourly download limit" as usual and counts down 60 minutes. However, after 60 minutes, it displays the same message again. It hasn't actually initiated a single download in 3 days (see log). I still deactivate my "malicious content filter" on my DECO app for my router, which worked for the last couple of years. So, that's not it.

Not a difference to before:
JD displays the error because the RG website contains it: Code:

You have reached your daily downloads limit. Please try again later.
Don`t want to wait? Upgrade to Premium and forget about delays!

@sloan: so it happens for you in browser as well? do you have dedicated IP or shared one? What firewall/av are you using? Maybe the scanner tries to download/scan it and because of that uses up your IP quota
Are you on MacOS and using Private relay?

hmm, you might be right (I'm not surprised! You usually are ... lol). I just tried it directly through the browser after waiting 24 hours, and it gave me the same message. So, it might be an issue with RG directly. UGH!
Does JD support any of the leeching programs like HotDebrid? |

Yes and no:
- We do not write plugins for such websites for various reasons which you can find in our forums, search for "premium link generator" (example) - Technically you can still use JDownloader but you will need to generate the direct-downloadable links manually on these websites, then add them to JD If you want something automated, either buy a premium account from RG or a paid multihoster account. There are no specific multihosts we recommend so you need to do your own research. Some are especially bad though (e.g. linkifier, see older forum posts) so avoid being scammed!

Understood! So you think it's best to wait until the Rapidgator issue resolves itself? You don't think that JD triggers something that makes Rapidgator think I already downloaded for the day, correct?

I just wanted to let you know that it started working again today – out of the blue. So, it definitely seems to be a temporary issue with Rapidgator itself.

yeah, and I didn't change anything on my end either. So, I guess, like with Turbobit, it's probably best for me to wait a few days before reporting it.

I'm using Rapidgator free mode in JD2. Normally I can download 3 files a day. Last working download from rapidgator ended 15.04.2025 17:59:19.
I tried other plugin settings but it did not help. Yesterday I downloaded 3 files manually using Brave browser. Today I downloaded 1 file manually using Brave browser (finished 06:05). I enabled debug logging in JD2 and tried to download. Captcha was displayed and solved by me from remote, but "hourly download limit reached" (~ 11:14). 3 hours later: Captcha was displayed and solved by me from remote, but "daily download limit reached" (~ 14:14). Container with Test-Links: **External links are only visible to Support Staff**... I'm using cable internet, 32 days without reconnect. 19.04.25 11.12.33 <--> 19.04.25 14.17.10 jdlog://0670511370661/ |
