only use that feature if you want to slow the download down. the figure you enter in is the speed limit you want to reduce it to. For instance someone on your network is gaming but you can still download 50% of your link speed of 50Mbit ~~ 6MiB/sec * 0.5 = 3MiB

I already gave you the way you figure that out in my original post, it depends on your desire. Figure out what speed you'd like to reduce it to either by, a factor of link speed, or alternatively a arbitrary figure that you think is about right.

@niko: depends what you are doing besides downloading. Online gaming/ VOD / VOIP...
download only = why limit?
online gaming/VOD, just try a limit and then slowly increase until everything works fine.

your max is 100Mbit is around 12mbyte/s max
so just set for example to 6mb/s and JDownloader will max use half of your possible bandwidth
you can click into the field and enter text

Thanks a lot! I was looking for this setting and I found it in the advanced setting as "Download Speed Limit" toggle and its value. The default was 51200 and I want it to be 250Kb/s, so I put 256000 and everything went fine!
