Angry Downloading JDownloader

How come, this software have only ONE link to download in the main page? From a server I've never heard of, downloading at 14-16 kb/s. Can someone please explain this to me? Why don't host on various file hosting servers, or direct link in your own site?

Yeap, I've also had some issues with ul.to - it wouldn't open for me for several hours. Now it seems to be running. I do understand these guys - they are putting the JD file on hosters which are paying for downloading. It's a fair agreement, I can not afford to support JD via PayPal, so at least my download counts. What I am unable to understand is the only one link to such hoster. Ealier there was a hotfile link (worked fine), now an ul.to one. In my opinion there alwyas should be two such links - one preferred, and the second one, a backup one. There is always a risk, that a hoster will have temporary problems, or will change their policy - like the damned Depositfile, quite often a Free user form a specific country can see - all free slots for your country are used.

To sum up - there are plenty hosters which are paying for us downloading JD, so there should be no problem to use two different hosters. You can always emphasize that you are proffering people to use the first one, and that the second one should be used only as a backup.

I do understand the lack of direct download from the JD server - not only lack of the reward cash from the hosters, but also - would take some server resourcers.

Guess what happened? I've just tried to install JDownloader on someone's elese PC, so am willing to get it via official website. But what a nice suprise is expecting me in a Download section: **External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff** File doesn't exist (deleted by Admin-Panel or wrong ID). ... Maybe it is a temporary problem, I do not know. What I do know, is the fact that there always should be two different hosters available... Let it be uploaded.to if it has to be, but givean option for hotfile, filesonic, turbobit or whatever - they are also paying...

As a temporary, non-official solution, you can find JDownloader 0.9.580.zip (20.68 MB) at "**External links are only visible to Support Staff**.

The file is also mirrored on RS, MU, DF, HF, ZS, and UL.

You can download it here too :
"**External links are only visible to Support Staff**"
It's a direct HTTP link. No wait time, or anything like that. Just click and wait.

A lot of projects just use a Google Code, Sourceforge, BerliOS, or Savannah.nongnu.org page for hosting their downloads, but have everything else (scm, bugtracking, etc) somewhere else. Maybe JD could do that.

I think they might make some money with the UL links, but I like your idea.

as jdownloader is free2use we depend on the revnueshare of the hosted files to pay our costs. we will try an experimental hosting on our own servers in december and see if we can handle the traffic and compensate the loss of revenueshare.

i think at end of first december week we will change hosting of installer.

i cant tell how long we will be able to host the installer ourself. we will see how well it will work.

Maybe JD could make up the money from the revenue-sharing hosting by getting sponsored by one or multiple hoster sites that JD then puts extra focus towards making sure those hoster sites work.

I do want JD to get funded but having a good way to dl it is good too. ;/

@Jiaz
If you want some mirror link, you can use the link that i've put in the #8 message. Free is a good web hoster; and I have no limitation from bandwith. all of their servers are in France.

@fma16
I tried your link.
It's direct but very slow (about 20-30 KB/s).
