how to merge packets with the same name?
I have several packets named "Various Files", each one with one or two links inside.
(screenshot attached) Is there any way to merge these packets into a single "Various Files' packet with all the links in it? This should facilitate sort operations (for example, sort by file size). |

There is no automatic way / button to do this.
You can do this using EventScripter scripts though. EventScripter forum thread: https://board.jdownloader.org/showthread.php?t=70525 EventScripter help article: https://support.jdownloader.org/Know...event-scripter

Any chance to have the merge possibility in the future?
In general I think it would make sense to reuse existing packets when adding links to Downloads. If a packet named 'various files' with 2 links is moved from LinkGrabber to Downloads, but Downloads already includes a packet named 'various files' with 3 links inside, I'd expect to obtain a single 'various files' packet with 5 links inside rather than two packtes named 'various files'. |

I personally don't see this happening myself, due to no real new features been added in many years. Though useful if you and others that do not retain many links as you would have to scroll and find various package vs just being there at the bottom of the list.

@Tino Piacen
Actually I disagree: In a lot of cases packages with the same name actually make sense. Some examples: - Adding all links from a twitter profile and all links from a pornhub profile but both users have the same profile names -> You wouldn't want them to be merged - Adding various links from different sources can result in different Various packages Packes have an internal unique "package ID". Based on this some of them are allowed to be auto merged. As an example: Add a twitter profile -> Stop the process before it is finished -> Now add the same link again -> New items will be merged in the existing package. What I want to say is: This feature doesn't just not exist because "we don't want to add it" - it is also more complex than you think. Though I agree that in some cases a button to merge all packages with the same name would be helpful. I will create a ticket for you but that doesn't mean that this feature will ever be added. If I was you and I'd want to have this feature soon, I'd try to find an EventScripter solution. Ticket:
