Default Jd 2 Problem with Audio

Dear Forum,

when I download Music from YT it shows, that It downloads in 192kbit what is normal for Youtube. But after the download when I go and see the properties it shows only 125kbit. I tried it with a different programm and there it was downloaded with 192kbit.

Note: In JD2 I selected only 192kbit and more, so it shouldn‘t even be downloading lower qulitiy sound.

Can someone help me?

There is no problem. YT has different quality ranges and JDownloader shows the upper limit. But YT now uses vbr to encode and therefore the average bitrate is lower than the upper limit. You can enable Settings-Youtube.doextendedaudiobitratelookupenabled
to peek at the actual filesize/duration=average bitrate

Does that mean, It only shows 125kbit but it is 192kbit?
Because as I said, when I download the same song with the other programm it shows 192kbit in the properties of the mp3-file.
When I do it with JD2 (I only enables 192kbit and more) it shows only 125kbit.

Now, it means it is 125kbit/s (vbr) but shows 192(max bitrate)
In the past audio has been encoded with cbr(constant) bitrate of 192 but nowadays it is vbr(variable) with max 192.

JDownloader does not touch/transcode the stream at all. It loads the file as it is.
192kb/s is the upper limit for the vbr audio stream which is vbr(variabe) with average bitrate of 125kb/s.

Hi Jiaz

on a PC, I used JD2 to obtain youtube audio
after remux/converting the file was 5.2mb in size and was 192kbps

I reinstalled JD2 on another PC and obtained the exact same file and
after remux/converting the file was 3.2mb in size and was 125kbps

Im concerened because not only is the bitrate 125kbps, BUT the file is smaller in size too
so this surely confirms the quality is lower?

please can you advise a way I can change the audio converting settings?

Original file size was approx 40mb before the converting took place.

PLEASE HELP

Cheers

Please provide example links!
My first guess is that during both tests the vbr reencode has been finished and replaced the cbr variant. My second guess is that you've selected different qualities without knowing

I've actviated your account.
You specify the upper limits of 192 and the bitrate is actual average bitrate of 125 (vbr). so all okay
