Instagram is giving "Plugin Defect!" again
...at least for me it is. It's only happening with a portion of links this time, i.e. you copy the URL for someone's main instagram page, linkgrabber grabs like 90% of the links and gives a defect on the other 10% or so. Happens consistently with every page I've grabbed recently. I'm updated to the latest version (apparently there was a plugin update since I first noticed and made a log but I tried again just be sure and it's still happening). Not the end of the world but worth noting, wonder what they did to make only a handful of links not work?

Same for me. Whenever I supply it a link to specific photo/video, it grabs the link but when I give it a profile link, it shows as
Code:
Plugin Defect!<Folder name> |

Can you please provide some example links?

Any profile link will do. It used to grab all images on the profile but now it just shows the plugin defect error.
i.e. Quote:

works fine here. Have you setup/enabled account in JDownloader
Also please create a debug log. Enable Settings-Advanced Settings-Log.debugmodeenabled and restart JDownloader. Wait for error again and create new log, see https://support.jdownloader.org/Know...d-session-logs and post shown logID here

That may be the reason/cause of the issue. I'm testing without any account and working fine. Could you also pleae disable the account and try/test again?

Yeah, it works flawlessly with the account disabled.

Just to make it clear, I meant with the account disabled, not "without"

For the meantime I recommend to leave the account disabled until the issue is fixed

I'm sorry no news yet. I don't have much time at the moment but I can check if it's easy to fix.
Can you send me example private links and username/password so I can check myself, maybe it's easy to fix. Send them to support@jdownloader.org

And now it doesn't work when you have the account disabled either :(
Is it still lack of time that's the issue or do you need any more info? |

No picture found for Instagram link
When I add **External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff** to jDownloader, it doesn't find an image.
Nothing gets added to my download list. Issue is only when I'm logged in to Instagram, when I uncheck my accounts it does get added. |

@mbch331: thanks for the feedback. issue with *logged in account* is known
Sorry, still lack of time. I guess it's just a small/easy thing to fix but I simply didn't find time for it yet :( I've increased priority of the ticket

I can think of a million things in life I would prioritize more than developing a freeware program so no worries. It'll happen when it happens

Oh, I'm very much aware of that. Not in this exact context but I've been part of managing free stuff on internet and some people make demands as if they've paid hundred of dollars for it and don't even have the courtesy to say thanks afterwards.
When you do get the time to look at this please check my report if it's related or if it can be fixed at the same time. Haven't got any feedback on it and I don't want it to just fade away. Cheers! |

fwiw, images with the long filenames like
Quote:
instagram uses the long filenames for both private images AND series (posts with two to ten images). so this is the reason why some images are being dropped from a full crawl of an account. without the account logged in, long filenames are recognized. but of course private accounts can't be crawled. |

Won't find Instagram image collections anymore
Whenever an IG profile is pasted into JD, all but the posts with multiple images are collected.

Instagram bug when logged in
When you provide a username and password for the plugin it does not fetch those "multi posts", i. e. the posts with more than one image or video. Only the "single media posts" seem to be grabbed.
Without providing login information some profiles can't be read at all (due to age restriction, etc.) so it is necessary but it's missing lots of the posts. Also, it seems to download much slower with login information than without. |

Grabbing single Instagram images not working
In Instagram , JD seems to have lost the ability to grab individual pictures from posts by hovering over the picture in the stream and "copy link address" eg in this random account
**External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff** that usually would grab the individual image file but nothing happens now. I also have an Instagram account registered in JD. Link grabber is enabled and working for other sites. |

My experience is not quite the same as others so here's my report.
With account disabled, it can grab all public photos just fine. With account enabled, it won't grab anything at all (from public or private accounts you are following) - linkgrabber simply does nothing in this instance. Disabling the account means grabbing public profiles works fine again. With account enabled, linkgrabber does nothing upon copying a url of a private photo to clipboard. Sometimes if you copy a user's profile url to clipboard, linkgrabber will crawl the whole profile and find images. Though, I can't say if it is finding every available image, or only certain images as others reported issues with albums. Regardless, with account logged in, linkgrabber is broken. It has been this way for 1-2 months now. |

Seems like they have changed stuff again.
It's not working currently. Again only downloading a fraction of the available images of a profile. |

The thing is Instagram generates different html depending on whether you are logged in or not. If you are not then the links to media files can be found in json node entry_data/PostPage where the decrypter will find them. However if you log in this node will be empty, the decrypter will find nothing. The media links will be instead in a separate json in another <script> tag.
You can easily fix this issue by checking if the user is logged in and if he is parsing the content of this tag. Code:
if (parameter.matches(TYPE_GALLERY)) { /* Crawl single images & galleries */ if (logged_in) { String graphql = br.getRegex(">window\\.__additionalDataLoaded\\('/p/[^/]+/'\\s*?,\\s*?(\\{.*?)\\);</script>").getMatch(0); entries = (LinkedHashMap<String, Object>) JavaScriptEngineFactory.jsonToJavaObject(graphql); resource_data_list = new ArrayList<>(); resource_data_list.add(JavaScriptEngineFactory.walkJson(entries, "/")); } else { resource_data_list = (ArrayList) JavaScriptEngineFactory.walkJson(entries, "entry_data/PostPage"); } for (final Object galleryo : resource_data_list) { |

FWIW I am logged in via JD but unlike previous poster , I don't seem to have a problem with JD grabbing multiple images via a single main account url. (I actually use another program for that anyway) My issue is when I only want selective images as per my previous post.

Still broken for me unfortunately, it doesn't appear to have made any difference. I have double checked I'm on the latest version.
With account enabled, it still won't grab a single photo from a public account, or private account I follow. As soon as I disable account, public photos work fine again. |

Still not working for about 2 or 3 months for me.
Without login: - grabs all public media (short + long names) - No private media of course (because not being logged in) With login: - public media: grabs short name media only (no multiple media post) For example: -> "B7PFWRGn1xY" works -> "B7PFWRGn1xY_B7PFTS-j9na" doesn't work - private media: grabs short name media only (no multiple media post) For example: -> "B0TacSXln7wx5fruM7P1V5yHVvzInaKBLIRNLc0" works -> "B0TacSXln7wx5fruM7P1V5yHVvzInaKBLIRNLc0_B0TacSPlCENpXu2d3KClr8JvetQpX0Wkf_s2Ys0" doesn't work I hope this is understandable and helps edit1: Also: Downloads are faster when not being logged in. Sorry, because that were only examples to show the length of the names that used to work or not. Not actual working posts on Instagram.
__ Update: After the last program update it's working for me. When logged in JD grabs all private media now (single media posts and multiple media posts) Thank you so much for everyone involed in making it work again. Awesome job |
