Instagram Link grabber can't parse links from private profiles even though your account has access to them. The links to private posts are different from links to public posts the ID in the URL is way longer. What works is if you put in the link to the profile then the grabber can crawl everything even if the profile is private.

Just in case that is not enough for us to check/fix this, we'd additionally need:
- Your Instagram account or access to any other suitable test account
- Example URLs (to private profiles which the given account can view)

@zerra: log shows that the plugin fails because no IG account is in use. Have you setup your IG account in JDownloader via cookies method, see https://support.jdownloader.org/Know...n-instructions

I have my instagram account added using my password not the cookie method. I now changed it to the cookie method but nothing changed. Also while being logged in with my password the link grabber was able to crawl the profile but not single posts.

here is the log using the cookie method.

Update.

That link provided earlier is from a private account.

This link: **External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff** is from a public account and gives the same error.

After that, I removed again the account and tried the cookie login and now works again.

Don't know why, because other private accounts worked fine.

@infkeops: thanks for the feedback. so have you added the account via username/password in first place and now via cookie method?

I added the account time ago via cookies. When failed, remove and add via username/password. After many days tried again via username/password. And today, after send my message and read another posts I remembered that the last time I had troubles with the account I did the cookie method, so I tried and it worked on the first try.

I've investigated this:
Looks like Instagram has added another login step which happens after it is clear that the account is valid but technically the login is not complete yet.
This causes the username/password login to fail.
I was unable to fix this problem and I'm unsure if it even makes any sense to put more time into this as Instagram has changed their login process quite frequently in the past.

For now I've updated the plugin to show a dialog to the user which recommends trying again via cookie login and links the cookie login instructions to the user.

I did some reading over at the Reddit IG forum. It looks like IG was purging bot accounts and the like. I can't begin to tell you how many IG users had the same problems I did. It came to the point that I had to make a selfie with my name, user name, and the numeric code they provided. This was on Tuesday I think.

This morning my account was reopened and I just downloaded a back log of images with JD with no problems at all.

Weird.

I know about that but IG closing down but accounts was not what caused these issues.

In short:
Use the cookie login and it should work fine.
Also, our next set of CORE-updates will contain some more improvements and bugfixes for our IG plugin.

Hi, I would like to report a similar problem.
Link grabber reports "No valid account!" when parses Instagram links, even from public accounts.
I added my account time ago via username/password and now I try via cookie login but the problem persists.
I even tried switching browsers and using incognito mode.
