how can i download xvideo with the highest quality, is there a way i only get the 480 or lower quality version .

JD by default grabs highest resolution. Please provide example links where it doesn't.
It might be necessary to enable *prefer hls* in Settings-Plugins-xvideos

Despite of having the settings in "Best" quality, my bests are only 360p from xvideos while they are 720p, 1080p on the website... Is a premium account necessary for downloading in really the best available quality? (However for me the "Buy a Premium Account" button didn't work either, but if that's not necessary, then it's not a problem for me.)

Hi,
as long as you can stream e.g. 1080p for free via browser, JD should be able to download that.
If it doesn't work, please post a log and example URLs.

Is it right this way? (I'm a noob.) These all came in 360p while there max. resolutions are 1080p and 720p on the website.

Go to Settings -> Plugins -> xvideos.com -> Enable "Prefer HLS Download" -> Reset all of your old xvideos.com URLs -> Start downloading

We prefer http downloads by default as they can be faster, support resume and you can see the final filesize right from the start.

That "Prefer HLS download" should be ticked by default, had the same problem.

Especially as you usually cannot guess that this is the solution when looking through the preferences.

You're right.
It was not on by default for the following reasons:
- JD is not yet able to resume interrupted HLS downloads
- Back rthen when the setting was added, I was not aware that they provide the highest qualities (720p/1080p) only via HLS

I've updated it to be force-reset to "on" by default for all users with our next set of updates.
