Question How to make JD to stop creating subfolders for downloads?

I want to make downloaded files appear right in the download folder.
For some reason JD started creating subfolders for downloads again. And I don't understand what I changed to make this happen.

How can I do this? Because I couldn't figure out what is actually responsible for it.

check if you have subfolder rule enabled, see https://support.jdownloader.org/Know...ackage-feature
and disable it. please know that changes will only affect new added links. existing links won't be changed

Yeah. I never touched that otpion, but JD was inconsistent: it would create subfolders in one startup, and it wouldn't in the next, then it would again.

For now uncheking that option seems to have stopped JD from creating subfolders, thanks.

Yeah, as I mentioned above I never touched that option, but JD was creating subfolders in one day, and not creating them another.
But this seems to be working for now, thanks.

This option is enabled by default. But it highyl depends HOW you add links (Clipboard, AddLinks Dialog, via MyJDownloader) if those rules are applied or not.
You're welcome

I usually just copy the link and either wait for JD to automatically catch it (which it does inconsistently) or just Add New Links if it doesn't.

Add New Links , there is a checkbox to *overwrites packagizer rules*, so when this checkbox is enabled, then the packagizer rule to create subfolder won't be used.
Whenever a link isn't caught by clipboard, then it's very likely not supported by JDownloader.
Manually adding via Add New Links will make the link to get deep decrypted
