Default JD2 Settings tab on MAC

Hi,

Just trying out the new JD and one of the tabs seems to have disappeared. The settings tab.

No I have JD2 doing all sorts of weird things and can't change them in settings because I can't find them. Things like the automatic extractor for packaged files is incredibly inconvenient for me and turning them off individually for each download is not a reasonable option (btw turning off autoextract for a large number of links at once does not work, bug?). There's numerous settings i need to change to get it to act just how i got previous JD to, otherwise it's giving me double work cleaning up after it when it's downloaded and extracted the files.

is there an 'old school' settings page/tab that i can use to change these settings?

thanks

Hi
1. The settings tab is closed by default.
To open it, go to Settings (up, next to "File") --> Settings.
2. Please tell us the exact things you want to change and we will help.
To answer your question: There is no "old school" mode but you can change a lot of settings to get "the old feeling" back.

Hi pspzockerscene,

Thanks for the feedback. I don't have settings in the menu bar next to 'File' or anywhere on it.

I've attached a screenshot so you can see exactly what I'm looking at. Is there a different GUI theme that shows settings in the menubar? I Dunno, just can see it anywhere.

There were quite alot of little changes and a couple big changes and scripts I used with the previous JD.

Primarily, the biggest inconvenience is how to turn off the auto extract permanently. I use JDownloader for work, were I have to download upto 5,000 data packs a day from different FTP servers and sometimes the usual file hosters. The auto extract doesn't always extract downloaded packages and sifting through a couple thousand to see which ones haven't been extracted is time consuming. I'd rather just use my own method of using a seperate software to extract, delete package, and sort the files.

Also, I'd greatly appreciate if someone could explain how to add FTP servers.

Thanks again for the help.

Go to the JDownloader menu -> Preferences like other Mac apps now.

Can't read the screen shot, compression quality too high and size too small (x*y).

JD hooks into standard map menu system, so what ever you need to do to trigger that , in windows all you need to do is 'alt + s' for settings

Hi raztoki and kdean,

Thank you so much. That worked a charm. Got the settings tab back and all is well:w00t::w00t:

I didn't think to look under the preferences tab (whose shortcut -> 'command + , ' is the mac equivalent of the shortcut raztoki gave.

All I had to do was follow you're advice.
Sorry about the attachment. I didnt realize it was unreadable.

I've attached a clearer (cropped) screen shot of the layout I had and how it looks now with the settings tab.

Wish there was a way of giving you guys Kudos points or something.

Thank you again, both of you. Really appreciate the help
