Default DnD to merge Account DataBase

I had an idea that could be awesome to implement. I know that there are 3rd party tools that make possible to merge/change the DataBase that stores accounts' user & password, but they are not recommended to be used while JDownloader is running.

What about a way to do so… just using Drag'n'Drop to a dialog window inside JDownloader?

My idea is just to make it take the "org.jdownloader.settings.AccountSettings.accounts.ejs" file… and then JDownloader merges the new one to the existing one. All in run-time.

Thanks in advance.

Hmm sounds like your wanting to take another's Account settings for their logins and passwords for their JDownloader Accounts.

Yes it would be nice in some ways but also could cause problems if the accounts are shared at the same time such as you and the other person logging in and downloading from the same hosts yet probably different IP's at the same time .... This would cause a lot of headaches to the original owner of those other accounts.

That being said also there is another issue depending on the security of the OS being used ... One would probably need to know what the others login and password was and where their file path once logged in is for their JDownloader copy to be able to pull the info for a merge.

The JDownloader Team can correct me if I'm wrong but, I don't think they would want to do this to any of their users as it could be considered as a backdoor also that would probably get many users in an uproar.

I stand corrected it seems ... Probably because I may not understand the merge/change the DataBase concept here.

There are advantages and disadvantages
+easier to import/load own accounts
-easier to import/load foreign accounts
Both has been possible before as well so I don't see any problems coming up by directly supporting this file as a *container*
