Default [NO JD BUG] Downloads Restarting At 50%

Anyone else seeing their downloads restarting at 50% completion? This happens across multiple file hosts (using RPNET). I am trying to determine if this is a problem with Jdownloader or RPNET.

The second attempt seems to finish without problems, but the first attempt seems to stop at 50% and restart.

Thank you.

@GNIREENIGNE: what max chunks/connections have you setup? As there has been no changes to JDownloader download core since ages, most likely it's caused by RPNET. In doubt, please provide a log, see https://support.jdownloader.org/de/k...d-session-logs
wait for issue to happen and then create a log, and post logID or send to support@jdownloader.org
Also try to set max connections/chunks to 1 (if not yet set)

Thank you for taking the time. I appreciate it.

I currently have max chunks set at 20 and connections set at 5. I will experiment with various things and report back if the issue cannot be resolved on my end.

Thank you.

set lower max chunks! 20x5 = 100 connections, way too many. I would recommend max chunks between 1-4 and max downloads between 1-6 , depending on hoster/account and max connection speed.
With logs I can tell you more but most likely it's caused by too many connections

Thank you for your help with this.

I have not been able to test many files, but so far, it seems that setting max chunks to 1 is working. If I set even to 2, even for a single download, it will restart.

I will report back if the problem returns.

I do wonder if this renders JD2 useless for me, in terms of increased download speeds. If so, I will inquire with RPNET to see if there is anything that can be done on their end.

Thanks, again.

Normally you should not have to rely on multiple connections to increase speed as a single connections under normal condition should be able to saturate your connection. also JDownloader provides more features than just *multiple connections/chunks loading*

Can you please provide a log, see https://support.jdownloader.org/de/k...d-session-logs
then I can check if the issue is with rpnet or something on your system.

-For sure, absolutely.

-I believe that the problem should have occurred at least once within these log files. If this is not a good sample size, please let me know and I can conduct more tests:

Code:
24.05.24 10.25.47 <--> 22.05.24 10.43.01 jdlog://3113411370661/
Thanks, again.

@
Please report issue at their support. Despite signaling max chunks/connections

"max_connections":2
the server does not allow multiple connections nor resume

Must be 206 Response Code and Content-Range response header. Looks like server caching/settings configuration issue

I have received a response from RPNET support:

Quote:
Hi,

we have updated the API to set it to one connection only. Unfortunately at this time only one conneciton per download is supported.
Apologies for the inconvenience.

Best regards,
Rapid Premium Support
This is unfortunate news. Thank you for taking the time to look into this.
