Official installer will not run
I've just bought a new laptop and Windows won't let me run the installer. It says something about not having permission although all permissions are showing as allowed.
I noticed the adware-free version you made available but need to know which one to download, please, java 1.8 or java 11? The new machine comes with Win 10 Pro x64 v20H2.

Sounds like a firewall/AV scanner issues.
Which AV software are you using besides MS defender? You can choose Java 11. -psp-

I'm only using MS Defender, and yes, it is absolutely an AV issue because I downloaded it to my old machine also and that caused it to be gobbled-up by MS Defender for containing a Severe virus or malware.
Thanks for confirming Java 11.
