Cool

@LJSeinfeld

Your problem might be related to the fact that FSe does no longer support resume for free loaders. When you happen to have downloaded a piece from a FSe file and this download was stopped for some reason, then jD can't handle that situation.

I believe the devs already know it and they might publish an update soon. A workaround for this problem is to Reset the link where jD gets stuck and all will be fine.

@Atman

You don't need to Reset all your links, only those that have been stopped and incomplete.

Note that I don't understand your window problem.

@arrowsmith

If FSe does no longer support resume for free loaders, there's nothing you can do about it. You'll have the same problem when you download with your browser.

EDIT :

@ALL

Note that you can still download FSe links with jD but you can't stop and resume them.

Good work Jack!
I'm still bugging the people at Fileserve as they have sent me an email asking me to clear the cache and the cookies.
However, the above does not work for me as I am on a Linux system.

Hey Fellow SG people,

Fileserve is working again on JDownloader!!!

It started working at 9:28PM SGT, it wasn't working when I wrote the first email, then was about to try the method with the full filename and my Error links started up again.

It just started up and its working, no need for VPN and such

Cheers!!

Only problem is, I have a premium account with FS -- and it just seems to happen with random files in the download queue. If I try downloading the files on a different machine in within my same network, no problem.

I do run Peerguardian on that box as it also downloads torrents, but I don't think it's hitting on JD's activity... it's a HTPC and I'd see Growl popups all over the place.

I'm hoping something will change soon... I have a relatively large queue, and I really dislike micro-managing it.. =)

EDIT- I just vnc'd to the box and disabled PeerGuardian... and voila.. the sticky FS link un-stuck... Fileserve.com is on my whitelist in PG... wonder what the hell is going on?

I bought a fileserve premium account the other day and have been experiencing speed issues (not JD specific). My internet connection is consistantly above 10Mbps (speedtest.net) yet the DL speed from a single FS premium connection is a woeful, 200kbps. More annoying is that I am only able to get 2 simultanious connections active in JD for a grand total of 400kbps, despite setting the maximum connections/sim. downloads higher. Some people seem to be getting these speeds with a free account so i'm a little annoyed.

Another issue which may be a problem with the FS acount or JD, is that after starting a download of a FS link (2 connections), scraping a different FS link from clipboard interrupts the download, checks the link and then restarts the download . Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Default Since a day no download from fileserve.com anymore

Hello,

since today I cant download from fileserve.com anymore. I didnt found a thread for plugins here in nightly so I make a new thread.

Since today it always starts to connect and then stops and says that the server doesnt allow multiple connections. Im alone on this ip and its the only download running. So I guess fileserve allowed multiple connections to one file before? Anyway... it doesnt work anymore...

All you need to do is Reset the link, because FSe no longer supports resuming links for free loaders.

I think an update of the plug-in is on its way.

Please, discuss your first issue with FSe or ask your money back.

For the second issue I think the devs need some example links and a complete and detailed log.

On the first issue is it possible that there is a problem on my end such as a discrete port that needs to be activated? Is there a specific limit to the amount of connections that you can get from fileserve (premium)? IE is everyone else able to achieve maximum download speed by maximising the amount of connections?

I might leave the second issue as it's most likely specific to me and a derivative of the first issue.

jD connects to the server just like normal browser so it uses the same ports as the brosers are using: 80 for normal connection or 443 for secure connection.

Increasing the number of connection may increase the speed, but it also may be limited by your OS (remember the famous limit of connection in XP?, your FV or even by your router. Sometimes hoster may also limit number of connection per file or your ISP may limit the speeds at specific time of day...

Please read the rules for Hoster Plugins. This will tell you the information we request in a Host problem report. Less information usually makes it impossible to diagnose your problem.

hi,
i guess the problem is about resume support.
i've tried to reduce Max. Con. to 1 and reseted the file. But after a while i needed a new ip and reseted my connection.

Without reconnection it was going well. though i can't say it would go well till the end of DL.

this had happened just before i reduced max.con. and reseted file.

These codes are after re-connection, start of resume-supported DL.

Attempted fix:
Tried deleting Plugins folder. Restarted JDownloader - it found and installed 43 addons. Error still exists.

1.This error should not happen for such links...
Did you just add the links and then started the download ?
2.All of your links are offline.
The fact that JD first shows them as online is true because of a fileserve bug.
We use their linkchecker:
fileserve.com/link-checker.php
which says that those links are online while in real...they're not!

Thanks for your super-fast reply. I appreciate it.

Well thats weird. As far as adding goes, I just used the clipboard monitor. Dont understand why its misreporting online status. What happens if you try to download them? Do you get the same error message?

Cool

I thought psp's explanation would be clear, but I'm going to try to explain it again.

Since all the links are incommunicable, i.e., off-line, the files can't be downloaded, whether using jD or a browser.

The bug is not in jD but in the link checker of fileserve.com. It reports off-line files as on-line.

Thumbs down

Thanks, Remi, but English isnt my second language. There were no specifics in the original answer as to how the downloads were tested, and I was looking for more information about the bug to see if theres a means to avoid it in future. No misunderstanding on my part. Save your condescension for a post that merits it thanks.

@0ldfart
The linkcheck-bug is caused by fileserve.
However when trying to download such files (after the linkgrabber in the download-tab) JD should deactivate them and mark them as offline.
If it shows a "plugin error" message instead the errorhandling doesn't work as it should...

also make sure that you disable [Reconnect may interrupt resumable downloads] in your reconnect settings, or you might end up with lots of broken fileserve downloads - at least until the plugin´s been fixed

Disabled fileserve resume support for freeusers, wait for the next update!
Downloads that have already been started can't be resumed anymore, you have to reset them to start them again.

Hi there...

how about "Premium Error" for the premium users case..??
I just try it today and still not working...

FYI, while writing this messages, I'm still downloading from fileserve.com using orbit with no problem..
It means that I have no ISP blocking issue in Indonesia..

just 2 remind u, with my post #262

I would remove the account, restart jD and add the account again.

Default Plugin out of date on fileserve

Hi,
it's been doing that since new year eve. I don't know if you already update it yet, as late as yesterday I still get that error from fileserve.

Thx.

FileServe has been working fine for the reset of us. Make sure your links work in a browser.

Read the General Discussion rules and the Hoster-Plugins rules before posting any more messages. I am sure you do not want to get banned on your second day.

If FileServe is still not working, provide the information requested in Hoster-Plugins rules.
