I have Java SE 13.0.1 installed and was running Jdownloader on this same laptop before I had to reinstall Windows, very frustrating that it's not working out the box

JDownloader supports Java1.6 up to Java14

The crash happens outside Java/JDownloader in Windows

You can make the launcher use your system Java by renaming the folder
c:\users\USERNAME\appdata\local\jdownloader 2.0\jre
Please know that the launcher doesn't support >=Java11. In that case you've got to start JDownloader.jar directly instead of the Launcher(exe)

As the crash happens when Java is trying to get folder/file information, this might be caused by other tools messing with explorer/filesystem
