Retaining "WhereFrom" info / Keep2Share
My apologies if this is not the right place.
I use Hazel to automatically sort downloaded files. One of the rules depends upon the kMDItemWhereFroms value in the files metadata. If I download a file directly (from Keep2Share) the data is correctly set, however if I use JD2 it is not. I think this is a general issue , it just happens that the current examples I have are all from K2S. Is there a setting somewhere that I should be using? Is this what the Referer field in K2S plugin is for? If so, it. isn't working. TIA I am running the latest version of JD2 on macOS Big Sur, however this problem occurred on previous versions too. |

Hi,
how exactly do you add your k2s URLs? If you are e.g. on a forum and copy k2s URLs via CTRL + C and add it to JD via clipboard-observation, the Referer ("Where from") should be set just fine. -psp-

That is how I added them.

Do you only see one item here or multiple ones? In case you only see one entry (the original k2s URL): Which browser did you use when copying those? Can you please provide the source URLs e.g. pastebin/forum from which you copied the k2s URLs? -psp- EDIT Seems like I misunderstood your request...

JD does not provide any standardised metadata file that other apps can scan outside of a info file ( see event viewer )

I think the user wants the ORIGINAL LINK NAME.
The - DOWNLOAD FROM - instead of the - FILE NAME - renamed by JD. See PIC. **External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff** Last edited by guardao; 11.08.2021 at 11:26. |

While not supported out of the box, you can run a terminal command from eventscripter extension in JD, to add that and/or other extended attributes to the downloaded file.
