webinterface is not able to do userinputs at the moment, thats why you have to use vnc to do the dialogs with it. we are working on a webinterface only solution but this takes time.

One more anxious user waiting for Linux Console version.
I have no coding skills, just a open-source wireless router/NAS user.

So far, been using JD java version in Ubuntu 9.10.

Cheers and merry Xmas

Cool

I think that's the idea behind a multi-platform environment like Java. jD is developed in Java.

would *REALLY* like to see this feature

atm am running JDRemote control and have written a Java APP to parse FlashGot links through to the NAS (Ubuntu Server) running JDownloader.

There is still no way I can change the Download directory of the links I'm sending and so my NAS has all the downloads in one dir (i need to specify download dirs for TV, Movies, Apps etc).

Usenet has a server called SABnzbd which offers an automated feature but this won't work without tagging for HTTP downloads.

I'm happy to help out with this feature to get it moving forward.

Please, read First Developer Steps.

Also have a look at jD's developers page. You can contact the developers with support@jdownloader.org

The WebInterface listens at port 8765. I suppose it's hardcoded in the add-on.

you can change the port in webinterface settings
we dont have console support at the moment , so you need some kind of remote desktop to use

Any more recent developments to a console version?

And one more question..
The eDownloader from the xtreamer video streamer uses code from jDownloader if i read it correctly, in the case of the eDownloader it only runs in console with a web gui, so why doesn't jDownloader?

xtreamer does advertise with jdownloader...thats it!
they do not support jdownloader, jdownloader does not run on it, they dont use any jdownloader code at all!! they only advertise to catch buyers. checkout their forum, many unhappy customers there!

we are working on daemon/nas/server version of jd, but that is still in planing stage.

Hi Jiaz, i presume this is the century question, but aproximately when can we expect to have the first release of this nas version.
I don´t want to seem eager ( although is what i am) but as i´m newby in the development processes, i would like to know aprox how much time must we wait for this

Anyway thanks a lot in advance
Bests

If it's in the planning phase then that means that they haven't a plan yet.

Any news on progress of this console edition?
Loads of apps could be written around it including but not limited to some really advanced web interface.

Sorry for reviving this old post.

There are many but I have not tested any of them. Here are some :-

1) DownloadDaemon : Remote-Controllable with a Console, GUI or Web-Based client - 32-bit Windoze and POSIX (See "**External links are only visible to Support Staff**)

2) pyLoad : Command Line Interface, web interface, controllable with IRC client or chat messenger, supports One-Click-Hosts, container formats like DLC, video sites or just plain http/ftp links (See "**External links are only visible to Support Staff**)

3) CinuxLoader 2 : Console driven, Open Source, DLC, RSDF, captcha-recognition - Linux (See "**External links are only visible to Support Staff** or "**External links are only visible to Support Staff**).
