Default Easy way to move JD to new Macbook?

Hello Everybody,

after some years I got a new Macbook. On my old MB there is a well customized JD that I'd love to takeover to my new one and this in the most easiest way ;-) On Windows I would just copy over the whole folder... but on my Mac...?

Thanks for your support and take care :-)

Samoth

Thanks for the link! :-) To me this looks like restoring a backup into a beforehand installed JD, right? So on Mac I cant just copy over the whole JD-directory to make it work on my new Mac? Because on Windows I can.

Yes, that works too, you may just have to manually create the "startmenu" (whatever it's called on a mac) links to start jdownloader. But the easier way would be to simply install jdownloader normally on the new machine and then (without jdownloader running of course) replace the install folder with a copy from the old machine. This is only really neccessary if you customized jdownloader beyond anything you can set in the settings screen. If your only customizations are made from the settings tab, a simple backup-settings -> restore-settings will do.

@Samoth: you can simply copy over cfg folder from existing installation. it contains all settings/lists/accounts.
I would do fresh install and then copy over cfg folder. Moving JD installation from different OS, please follow this https://support.jdownloader.org/de/k...r-installation to make JDownloader install the OS dependant files.
