I saw this could mean a temporary or permanent ban by Youtube and I did before that download several complete playlists with hundreds of clips. But if the ban is specific IP related why it's still the same error when I use a VPN? And when I try to download a Youtube clip with an online site that offers that service I am successful in downloading with Jdownloader with my regular IP with a more direct link that this site gives me. So is the problem with the format of the regular Youtube link? I did send the log as instructed but I'm not sure who got it. Am I supposed to get an answer? |

@CapH
YT also tries to detect applications and ban them based on IP and their unique distindtive marks such as User-Agent. This is why other YT apps may still work when JD is "blocked". I suppose it does exactly what it is supposed you: Stop ppl from mass-downloading. -psp-

For example JD gives an error with "**External links are only visible to Support Staff** but with the more direct link to the same clip which starts with"**External links are only visible to Support Staff** JD2 is able to download it, so it's not an IP or ban issue. Is it? What did you mean by "User Agent"? JD2 itself? Last edited by CapH; 21.07.2020 at 13:59. |

VPNs/IPs of those are often used by many ppl thus a lot of services are trying to block them anyways ...

Ok but I noted that I am able to download with JD2 from YT with a different format link. Does that not suggest that the problem is with JD2 and not a YT ban?

I gave an example above:
YT clip **External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff** is translated with this site: **External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff** to this URL: **External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff** The first regular YT lins is rejected, the second one accepted and downloaded by JD2. |

Your 2nd URL is a direct video URL.
This will more or less skip all of our plugins - you're comparing eggs and bananas here ![]() You can always use 3rd party applications to e.g. use as a workaround in case of GEO-blocks or plugin failures or also, to download streams from video websites for which JD does not have a plugin. Example: https://board.jdownloader.org/showthread.php?t=85042 ... alternatively search our forum for "Video DownloadHelper". -psp-

Hi, having an issue where JD does not find any video, only .txt, .srt and .jpg when crawling this URL: **External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff**
Other YT URLs seem to work fine, so that's odd. //edit: after adding my YT account to JD, I do get a video download, but it's only the very last second of the stream. //edit#2: and after closing+restarting JD, and re-crawling the URL, it once again goes back to not finding any video for download, only txt/srt/jpg. Resolved!
Looks like the cause was on YT's side, not JDL. |

Hallo miteinander!
Last edited by SuperParchita; 29.07.2020 at 16:26. Yt Threads zusammengeführt.
@SuperParchita YT erkennt JD manchmal. IP wechseln / VPN deaktivieren und erneut versuchen oder später erneut versuchen. Falls das Problem weiterhin besteht, ggf. temporär auf andere Tools ausweichen (z.B. youtube-dl). Grüße, psp

When I get "Too many requests", getting a new IP (by briefly disconnecting the router) AND restarting JDownloader is necessary to fix it. Not only getting a new IP.

Why do youtube vidoes have a lower bitrate and smaller size when I download them with jd2 compared to y2mate.com ?
Example: The Weeknd - Blinding Lights (imy2 Cover) **External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff** downloaded as mp4 in 1080p with jd2: size is 50 mil bytes, bitrate of the video is 1849 kb/s with y2mate.com: size is 68 mil bytes, video bitrate is 2591 kb/s Last edited by pantau; 11.08.2020 at 08:36. Hi, thanks a lot for the program. It works very well for most of my download interests.
However, I have a problem with downloading some youtube videos in the available quality. Usually, I get the best available quality in my JDownloader downloads (2160p works as well...thanks!). But for some videos only 360p can be found (always exactly 360p and no other quality at all), although the videos are available in 720p/1080p on youtube. I can't really make out any reason for it. On youtube the videos can be played normally in 1080p without problem. Other videos from the same users can be downloaded in higher quality (in exactly the quality they are available to watch on youtube). And it isn't a problem in JDownloader only: When I try to download the videos via any other Youtube Downloader websites, I also only get the same 360p quality. Here is an example: Video 1 **External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff** JoJo - Baby Its You Video 2 **External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff** JoJo - Good Thing Video 3 **External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff** JoJo - To Little To Late 3 concert videos from the same user, from the same concert, in the same quality (available: 144p, 240p, 360p, 480, 720p, 1080p). All 3 videos are watchable in 1080p on youtube without any problem. But when I copy the links into JDownloader (or any other downloader), the first 2 videos are only found in 360p. The 3rd video is found in 1080p (and in all other available quality versions as well). It's no big problem. At least I get the videos in 360p. But it's a bit annoying as I always have to check whether the copied links were found the high quality, if I want to be sure. Is the problem known? Is there anything I can try? Is it possible that it gets fixed anytime in future? Or will these particular videos stay impossible to download in their higher quality? Thanks in advance for ideas! ![]() |

Greetings,
I've been back reading for quite a bit and am just seeking clarification regarding the issue I'm having. I've just recently experienced the "Too Many Requests" error when trying to download youtube videos. I'm using this on macOS by the way. The first thing I tried was changing my IP but I continued to receive the error. The next thing I tried was to uninstall and clear all related files to JDownloader 2 then reinstall it fresh and try just one youtube link but I still got the "Too Many Requests" error. The final thing I tried was just to switch to my Windows PC and try to download there and it worked fine with no issues. What I would like to ask clarification with is that is JDownloader2 sending information to Youtube that is letting it identify my Mac specifically and give it the "Too Many Requests" error? Or is there some other issue here? I ask because I can download just fine using JDownloader2 on my other computer which is in the same network having the same external IP. Thanks in advance for any advice regarding this. Quick Update: I tried it on my other Mac and PC and the behaviour is the same. I get the same "Too Many Requests" error on the other Mac but it works fine on the other PC. Again, all these computers are under the same network with the same external IP running the latest version of JDownloader2. Thanks again in advance. Last edited by Xenos; 12.08.2020 at 01:03.
