Default schedule updates

JD often pops up to tell me the is an update available and that I should click to install it.

Some time ago I did that, then JD aborted all running downloads to immediately install and restart, costing me hours of (non-resumable) download.

Does it still do this? I really don't want to experiment and lose more downloads.

If it does, please can we have an option to schedule updates next time there are no downloads running?

No, JD does not force updates.

"Of course"? Why "of course"?
Why not after downloads are finished so you don't lose hours of download time?
Not all of us have gigabit connections. I can have downloads that take 12 hours. If I could tell JD to update then, it'd be fine.

And if downloads are going to be aborted, inform the user so he can choose whether to do it later himself.

JD does a lot of things concurrently, schedules events, it's not unreasonable to ask for it manage itself more intelligently.

JD2 should show when a non-resumable download is stopped, it does for me.
But to avoid problems, in the advanced settin: GraphicalUserInterfaceSettings: Rly Warn Level set as value High!...

On the other hand, if you want to make manual updates, please look in the advanced settings the update options.

Does it do so if you click the popup to do the update?
This is difficult to test, as I can't provoke the popup, and when it does occur I am hesitant to allow it and risk again losing my downloads.

Regardless, I still would prefer the option "apply update after all downloads complete".

If my downloads are running obviously I don't need the update immediately anyway.

I made two tests, and here is the result.

In the dialog "new update available", if you do click on the option "install now", JD2 shows two dialogs. The first dialog asks if you really want to exit from JD2, and the second asks if you want to stop running downloads.

Yap but note that the 2nd dialog will only show up as long as you didn't select the "never show this again" feature yet for it!

Thanks, so at least it gives a warning now.

Better still if it could schedule the update without interrupting downloads.
