Default No AppData\Local directory?

I recently installed JD2 on a new system. Since having done this, JD2 hasn't created an AppData\Local directory. All data that used to be created and saved in that location is now instead being created/saved in C:\Program Files. Please guide me in how to correct this.

Thanks, as always.

What installer did you use? All installers from us should install to AppData by default.
Easiest way is to backup the cfg folder , then uninstall JDownloader and install again with
http://jdownloader.org/jdownloader2
and then copy over/replace cfg folder with backup

Thanks for your reply. I've concluded that I must have manually changed the default directory when installing JD2. With that in mind, I apologise for wasting your time with what was a simple oversight on my part.

This does bring up the question: Apart from obvious security factors, is there any other benefit to JD2 installing to AppData, rather than to Program Files? Specifically, most apps install to Program Files but keep other data in AppData. Why does JD2 pack everything into one directory? Ease of use on your part? Benefit to end-user? Something else?

If you have the time to answer, then please do.

Thanks again.

AppData is the default location since long time for user specific applications. Program Files folder is protected and not easily accessable by non admins and that created issues when JDownloader wants to update and not having full permissions to do so.
