Question Question about update restarts

Something I've been wondering for a while. I've read that plugin updates don't require a restart, only Core updates do (and I guess maybe other items listed in the About).

But I generally see multiple restart-requiring updates almost every day. For example, I just did one and none of the version numbers changed in the About JDownloader window in OS X after restart. I noticed a hoster plugin had a new file date and the Updater.jar and JDownloader.jar and new dates.

So, i'm wondering if this is normal or if I have something set that's making all updates require a restart?

When I search the Advanced Settings for "update", everything is checked but:

UpdateSettings: Proxy Dialog On No Connection
BubbleNotify: Bubble Notify On Update Available

Not a big deal, but just was wondering if I was getting more restarts than I should.

Using Java 1.8.0_11 on OS X 10.9.4

Any thoughts?

I've had 3 restart-requiring updates already today. It seems silent plugin updates don't work at all. Is that correct?

Silent plugin updates work fine.
At the moment, a lot of stuff is done which is why there are so many restart-requiring updates.
