I've tested some hosts with the censor lookup tool.

MF, 4S, MU, and RS aren't censored, but HF and FSe are. What's the logic behind this? Don't these hosts bribe the censoring mafia enough?

Quote:
the existence of this censorship is unknown to the majority of internet users in the UK.
That's very bad if this is true. They know about all the cameras spying on them and don't react. Now they are censored and they don't even know it. They're slowly losing all their remaining freedoms.

Quote:
The IWF keep their list a tightly guarded secret allowing them to be completely unaccountable for any mistakes or for misuse
That's one of the typical methods that dictatorships use to increase their power. When are the UK people going to wake up from this absolute nightmare?

This kinda give me the feeling that if we are unaware of what information is being filtered over the internet, god knows what else will they filtered to block information flows on the web, it is a bit of communism going on in UK, but they just call it an anti-terrorism measure.

Btw I also have an Hotfile account whihc is still fine and Jdownloader didnt automatically disabled the premium setting unlike Fileserve

Default Look @ This

Hey guys,
I think it is a JD problem NOT fileserve Problem
I Emiled fileserve last week and the replayed this to me :

~Kindly check to JDownloader regarding this matter or see any settings for the Jdowndloader in adding sites for on their application. Better yet download another download manager like Internet Download Manager for MAC OS

We hope this response has sufficiently answered your questions. If not, please do not send another email. Instead, reply to this email directly~

Now I have the same primum Pob with fs in JD keeps disabling my account,
So as an alternative i used IDM what i found is intersting thing:
1.Copy files from a web page then add them to your IDM to Q in the download section
2.highlight the files from idm the go to task export then export them as txt file
3.you wil see links in the txt : **External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff** file name
4.copy links as they are in the txt then paste them to JD
5.JD will find the files from DH (data.hu) for some reason
6.now you can download them like normal as your fs acc working fine

JD team should look at this matter coz our accounts work fine with IDm etc

With the constant JD automatically disable Fileserve account, I downloaded their own Fileserve Manager punch in the premium info and now I am able to download it straight from Fileserve in UK.

I think it is something to do with JD's fileserve plug-in too , well for premium account holders at least

it's an issue on their side and we are trying to get in contact with them. in case we are still not able to make contact to them we will add api support (the one from their own downloadmanager). seems this api is more stable than the homepage and not affected by iwf filter list. (not yet)

Default I think I have a workaround

Firstly I would like to thank the devopers, I love JDownloader!!! Also the latest update seems to have fixed filesonic download problems!!

I think I have a workaround for fileserve premium users in the UK. It's quite simple really and save you having to give each portion of your download your undevided attention.

Increase the number of downloads / connections (not sure the difference so I do the same for both) to the number of files you are downloading from fileserve

Activate the download for all your files at the same time, and go to the 'Settings' tab and make sure that your Fileserve box stays checked.

Once all files are downloading, and fileserve box stays ticked (and FS appears the very bottom left hand corner of the download tab) it is safe to leave your computer.

When you wake up in the morning, all your files will have downloaded!!

Seems to stay stable if you throttle the download speed too!!

Maybe one day the developers will be able to fix, as IDM (Internet Download Manager) seems to be happy working with fileserve on the same computer (however IDM doesn't do filsonic.)

Try to download in your browser with your account.

If that works, please remove your account from jD, restart jD and add the account again.

Did you Enable Premium globally?

Thank you !

Now, i can download from fileserve, but the speed is very slow. I think there is a problem with the fileserve server or the network connection of them.

Improved fileserve errorhandling, wait for the next update:
-"landing-2702" errors are now handled correctly (5 minute reconnect-waittime)
-Unknown "landing" errors should now be caught and displayed to the user as "Unknown landing error, please contact our support!"

I paid for a premium Fileserve account tonight and it's really bad. Downloads constantly start and stop and the speed in general is awful. It will shoot up to 1mb+ then quickly drop all the way down to 0kb where it will stay for a few seconds then it will spike back up, rinse and repeat. Downloads are taking 50x as long to grab. I get 1.9mb/sec constant on both Rapidshare and Hotfile.

I'm in the UK and my ISP does use the IWF filter, is there nothing I can do?

Again:
Fileserve has MAJOR server-issues!
Often downloads do not start because the servers don't respond and YEs it CAN happen AFTER entering the captcha

The problem with fileserve is fileserve itself. The only fileserve links that are slow to pick up/start/do anything are for me the same in the browser.

I suspect older links get shunted to a server out in some faraway backwater.

That said I do sometime get the odd similar behaving link in megaupload.

I emailed both my ISP and Fileserve, Fileserve suggested I use their download manager, and to be fair my speed went back to normal (around 2mb/s) but the main problem of my downloads stopping and starting was still present. My ISP said there was nothing wrong with my ping or tracert test. It's most likely due to that bloody IWF filter.

It's a shame they won't help you out, because there really is a huge speed difference when using their software. But even with the improved speed it's no good if my downloads keep stopping and starting, and I get that problem with all download managers

i have decrypted around 60% of their api but still some important things unclear. someone with a .net decompiler might be able to help but at the moment i'm stuck. we got in touch with them but no further contact till then.

Just a thought, as my country (UK) and my ISP is using the IWF list, I had to buy Fileserve premium to use their service, apart from their Filerserve manager works for me , also "internet download manager" works perfectly as well with 8 chucks per file connections. On the downside is the Direct download box has to be ticked in the fileserve account settings.

Would it be possible to pull some of the code from IDM, replicate those code as part of plug-in?:confused:

That's a scheme I hadn't thought of. They just bribed the IWF mafia to get more premium customers.

Fileserve Premium Account issue

First let me say thanks for a lovely app.

I live in the UK, my server Talktalk

JD version 0.9.581

Fileserve plugin 13682

Mac OS 10.6

Like may others, I'm having problems with my Fileserve premium account: JDownloader will not retain my Premium account settings. BUT, when I connect via my neighbour's server (with his permission!) all works fine. He's with Virgin, Iwhat's interesting is I believe both Talktalk and Virgin are on the IWL filter list.

Here's a log extract for TalkTalk server:

I post this as I have not seen anything similar in this thread (all 28 pages!!!) and thought it may be helpful to developers. Incidentally, this issue started after the last update of JD.

Keep up the good work, cheers bretski

I too with talktalk and my symptoms are slightly different , I can download from fileserve using IDM and some random occasion with JDownloader as well, basically with Fileserve they check the IP for non-member and cookie for premium member. talktalk has already implied the IFW, we all literately go out the talktalk server under the same IP.

Yes Virgin media is a member of IFW:

Andguess what MEGAUPLOAD is on the list now :(

Search for "fileserve premium problems" (no quotes).

I think I found a discussion of the problem. It has to do with the ISP in the UK blocking specific kinds of messages.
Read http://board.jdownloader.org/showthread.php?t=22069

Default question about fileserve

I am a free user of fileserve. I usually using Jdownloader to download file from fileserve and my speed always range from 250-450kps. But now it suddenly decrease to 5-50kps.

Do you experience the same problem?

Default premium acct: jdownloder speed drops substantially towards the end of a file download

hey guys,

1st, i want to thank the developers of jdownloader. it's a great tool, and once the bugs have been addressed, it'll be even better!

my problem: jdownloader achieves the maximum speed (around 1.8mb/s) for the most part of the download of an archive. but what happens is it drops to around 44k/sec (more or less) towards the end. for example, on a 400mb file, jdownloader gets 1.8mb/s up to 350mb, and drops to 44k/sec for the remaining 50mb!

right now, the only way for me to achieve the full speed is to stop and start! now i have tried various combination of connections per file and max # of file downloads, to no avail.

please let me know how i can resolve this. thank you.

Concerning this IWF problem: If my ISP started to filter the internet for me, I'd start to filter the payment he gets from me, until he stops that. I don't know exactly how laws are in the UK, but I would be surprised if not delivering what you've been paid for was legal.

@ tuinebap88,
This seems like a problem at fileserve. Please wait a couple of days.

@ mayorq,
Try changing Max.Con. (the bottom of the JD window) to 1 or 2. If this does not fix your problem, post at least 3 links that work OK in a browser but have problems in JD. Upload a log showing JD downloading the links.

@ Pressfred,
Read the terms of service from your ISP. You will probably find that it is legal to block communication that can harm the network or contains illegal content.

Unfortunately, the UK has signed-on to the fake "War on terrorism" and has passed laws to allow the government more control over suspected terrorist communication. People providing world wide access to software are considered terrorists under the new definitions.

This is not a political statement, but a statement of fact, since "War on terrorism" makes no sense. "Battle against terrorists" makes a lot more sense.
