Default Column widths and other GUI problems

I can't resize the width of some columns:
Hoster (sic)
Connection
Speed
ETA
Bytes loaded
Size

Also the Package info is weird.
While the info for each particular download in the package is okay, the top row "Bytes loaded" flickers between zero to the real total for the package. The "Progress" bar is in step, flickering between zero and the true percentage. Attached showing the zero phase.

Click on the header of each column > Uncheck the Lock Columnwidth.
For the progress, I'm sorry but I don't understand at all what is your problem.

OK.

And what is the last column, with a star in the column head, supposed to be? It's always blank in my screen so I can't even guess.

You don't understand my description, or you don't understand why it happens?

Did you look at the screencap?
The bytes loaded number and bar flick between zero and the true number about once every 2 seconds.

I think you mean the gear icon which is commonly used for additional settings or options. In this case, if you click it you can add/remove additional columns. Similar to when you right-click on another column heading.

Since the same dialog opens when I click any column head, it seems rather redundant to have this icon at all, let alone creating an empty column for it.

I did see the "Lock Columnwidth" option there, but thought it referred to all columns, not just the one you clicked on. That seems to be the only option for the selected column.

This should have options specific to the selected column, e.g. choose to display the actual name of the file host rather than the logo, preferable to editing the esoteric Advanced setting "GraphicalUserInterfaceSettings.showfullhostname"
