JDownloader cannot delete the given folder. Most likely because of your setup/ownership/permission changes

This is an installation on a different computer.
I need a newer version.
Present is too old to run the installer.
Need latest version:
JDownloader.jar

Installation folder works as portable?
But it won't work on other computers.

If you copy folder "JD2" to another computer ... and try to run...

That depends if your JDownloader installation comes with bundled Java or not. If no bundled java (java/jre folder) then you will have to install Java on other system manually.
JDownloader installation is portable as all is stored within the JDownloader folder

I had to find the .EXE file (JDownloader 2 Launcher.EXE) file to run as administrator.
The *.JAR file cannot be run as administrator.
Run as Administrator is required with UAC enabled. And everything worked out.to run as administrator.

Each computer has different permissions, but why the correct permissions cannot be granted for this particular system
Take Ownership.

Example:
1. Select Folder "F:\JDownloader2"
2. Open Menu "Click Take Ownership"

Nothing changes.

The installer related to "Jdownlaoder" should have additional installation permissions.
See what it is like in another Advanced installer.

Is it possible to add the current system privilege detection and install with the privileges of the currently logged in user? (WINDOWS 7 Account)

We won't add *special* support for your system playground.
Use the new installer from here https://jdownloader.org/jdownloader2
Those no longer require higher priviliges

UAC must be enabled to prevent dangerous changes to the system.
This has always protected my system with Ramsomware as well.
But JDowloader.jar cannot be run as Administrator.
Running as Administrator is required on Windows 7 with UAC:

Please fix those permission/ownership/security issues by yourself.
This has absolute nothing to do with JDownloader!
The error shows that your executing user that runs JDownloader/java does not have right to overwrite the file

But you haven't tested? You can test it?

Step by step.
1. Create a second account with administrator privileges.
2. Enable UAC.
3. Copy the installation folder to another partition.
4. Try/test running start JD2

I have UAC enabled on all my Windows Systems and never encountered any of your issues. And yes, I did copy my JDownloader folder around my system.

You are aware that "a second account" with admin rights does NOT have privliges to access the files of your "first account"!
You cannot access other users data without rewriting permissions with help of your admin privliges! Please learn
how windows ownership/group system works!

In Short:
Run/Setup/Install JDownloader as User A
and then switch to User B
will NOT work without manual fixing the permissions/ownerships/groups because B is not allowed to modify/maybe even read files
from user A
It does NOT matter that both users have admin priviliges!

I asked a computer specialist (ASUSTeK).
His company has the same problems and I need to contact JD2 support.
Workaround:

JAR extension does not run as administrator
only EXE or MSI can be run as administrator

Okay..
How many accounts do you have?
1
2
3
4
or more..?

Are at least two of the accounts Administrator?
If so:
Enter the names of all Administrators

You don't even try to understand that you CANNOT change the user without having to fix all ownership/permissions, EACH time you change the user. EACH TIME!
This has nothing to do with UAC/Admin.

I'm sure you will be able to fix your setup on your own
Please don't start to waste our time again by asking non JDownloader related stuff
You ignore all my comments and just continue with your own.....

Pobierz 32/64Bit Webinstaller (Java 1.8)
https://jdownloader.org/dl?v=101

JDownloaderSetup.exe

Here by default I have the "UAC administrator" icon. Good!!!
It's okay, but the tool contains "adware".

The tool does NOT contain adware. The installer contains optional adware that you can skip/decline.
You can also use the direct installer

Thank you very much.
I would only like the executable installer (.exe) without the Win32 / WebCompanion.B file
JDownlaoderSetup.exe
or
JDownloader.msi (if possible)

I don't want the .jar file

Thank you for your help.
Goodbye.

See my link, those are the direct/clean installers without. More cleaner than those is only the JAR itself.

I copied two files (to a folder moved to another partition) and run from two files:

Run as Administrator...
JDownloader2Update.EXE
JDownloader2.exe

Without using .jar (as run)

All fine now.
Thanks!
