Default How to do full backup of private membership site?

Under Basic Authentication, I noticed there's no provision for https, only http or ftp - does it matter?

After I keyed in the details, how do I know if I'm connected within JDownloader?

under host/URL, do I key in just the root URL? E.g. if site = **External links are only visible to Support Staff**www.abc.com and videos are under **External links are only visible to Support Staff**www.abc.com/videos, I should just key abc.com?

When I use linkgrabber for a specific video, E.g. **External links are only visible to Support Staff**www.abc.com/videos/myFirstVideo, no video is detected even though IDM detected it. What else can I do?

Lastly, when using linkgrabber at the root page abc.com, it names most videos correctly but some filenames are garbled. How do I get JDownloader to use the proper title (maybe from the webpage title?) instead of the garbled name?

No, this just means Basic Authentication for http/https or ftp/ftps sites.

@magicmike: It doesn't work as you expect it to work.
1.) most likely the website you're taling about is not using standard http basic authentication
2.) you cannot add root url and let JDownloader *crawl* through all pages and find the videos. Only with special plugin support this can be supported.
3.) when you add a link to unsupported website, then JDownloader tries its deepcrawl mode and tries to find everything that looks like content/video/file...I guess the videos are protected by logins, whereas the root is not and thus JDownloader finds something on root but not on individual video links because JDownloader is not logged in.

@magicmike: I recommend you'll send us example links and logins to the website you want to backup your videos to support@jdownloader.org, then we can check/provide further help

IDM uses your browsers cookies to access that website while JDownloader does not and therefore can't access it.
You can create linkcrawler rules and provide the cookies with them, so JDownloader can *see* and download the files, see https://support.jdownloader.org/Know...kcrawler-rules
