No changes on that function and still working fine here and your log doesn't contain any error.
What exactly happens/fails? Screenshots?

tried to backup before the update, no .jd2backup file added (restarted JD2 and tried again)

After the update same result.

There has been no changes at all to this method since long long time and no .jd2backup file created could also be caused by missing permissions or firewall/av.
Is there any error shown? Can you please do the following. Close JDownloader and delete/clear the logs folder. Start JD and try to create backup and then zip the complete logs folder and send to support@jdownloader.org

There is no error message.

Is there a size limit to the .jd2backup files?

There is no issue to create DLC for files.

When trying to create the .jd2backup, the file is present in the folder (no size) when restarting JD2.

If nothing was changed with the update, the size of the backup might be the issue.

Nothing has changed in backup and there is no size limit. Did you try a different destination folder for the backup file? can you please provide the logs that I've asked for

Thanks. The logs don't contain any error. I would suggest we'll do a teamviewer session and take a look at this together. Just contact us via support@jdownloader.org
must be something specific to your setup/system/installation

I'll check any changes that might have caused the issue.

Thanks Jiaz.

Hi,
I am having the same problem with File->Backup->Backup all Settings
Not working
It creates the initial jd2backup file with a size of 0 bytes and then removes it after the restart.

JDL2 Build date: Mon Sep 09 01:01:12 CEST 2019
Core # 41237

Log files:
09.09.19 16.55.38 <--> 09.09.19 16.56.45 jdlog://0130386935451/

Log doesn't contain any errors but zero size and gone file is a sign that JDownloader fails to create the backup.
Does it fail every time when you try to create the backup? tried different directories?
I would recommend we'll take a look at this together via Teamviewer, contact me via support@jdownloader.org
