Exclamation Firefox Add-on CORRUPT - DISABLED - CANNOT BE INSTALLED

I've been using JD for years and this is the first time seeing this issue: Firefox just deactivated the JD add-on and doesn't allow me to reinstall it, stating that the file is corrupt. So now, when the captcha screen opens Firefox, it does not show the usual captcha page. Instead:

Browser Extension Needed
This captcha is harder to solve than others. JDownloader needs help from our browser extension to continue. This works without MyJDownloader account, no need to login or register! Just install the extension and start the download again.

:outch::w00t:

Under Add-ons it now says: MyJDownloader Browser Extension could not be verified for Firefox and has been disabled.

Is that something you need to change on your end, or can we tweak it on our end? I don't see a why to force enabling it.

nothing we can do, as fault lies with mozilla group. Personally a working interm fix is to use another browser (chrome). Advanced setting > BrowserCaptchaSolver.browsercommandline

ah, ok, that sucks ... but will probably be fixed by them soon.

So for your interim solution, so I simply right-click the command line you mentioned and replace "null" with C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Chromium\Application\chrome.exe

and, after Mozilla fixes their issue, I go back and simply type in "null" again?

I tried adding C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Chromium\Application\chrome.exe, but it says it's an invalid string

correct, you can use the field reset (arrow) button.
you need to double escape the slashes like the description indicates.

thank you. I tried
[ "C:\\Users\username\\AppData\\Local\\Chromium\\Application\\chrome.exe", "%s" ]
but it still returns incorrect string

I also tried "C:\\Users\username\\AppData\\Local\\Chromium\\Application\\chrome.exe", "%s"
but it didn't work (and the path is definitely correct)

In Firefox:

goto "about:config"

set "xpinstall.signatures.required" to false

After a restart the add-ons will work again.

Be aware signatures of add-ons are no longer checked.

@zOrlAc
did you edit the username to match yours?

@mero4711
I personally would not recommend todo that.
try there recommendation and enable studies
https://discourse.mozilla.org/t/cert...-install/39047
or
just wait for mozilla to push updates.
or
use chrome
