Thanks for update. Just a quick follow up question. Is there a way to download videos marked as "age restricted"? I can still download most of the videos with JDownloader without youtube account but it shows an error "Error [video ID] - Sing in to confirm your age" for videos that are marked for Mature Audience or some other age restriction. Is there any way to bypass this or we are out of luck with that for now?

When I try to add my free YouTube account in the Account Manager (to prevent the "sign in to confirm your age" status in the download list), I get the funny error message "Cannot add Account because Premium Account".

For me, every YouTube link I try to get show this error for almost 10 days. Yesterday update didn't solve a problem. I have never tried to log into YT account since everything always worked without it perfectly. I have already tried to reinstall Jdownloader 2, problem persists...

How can i get jdownloader to reinstall ffmeg?

Since about a week, JD appears to be unable to grab SOME videos in higher resolution than 360p, although they are available up to 1080p on YouTube.

The issue appears to be confined to recently uploaded videos. Having installed a number of JD updates in the past week, I went back and tried to re-download them again. Now some could be downloaded in 1080p, but others could still only be downloaded in 360p. I have also checked with some stream ripper sites and they are experiencing the same problem with these links, which leads me to think that YT have changed something (not a JD bug so to say).

Here are two examples:

hmm not having that issue here re missing qualities, but still having the issues of having to restart JD between grabs and dls for youtube ...

I tried to create a log file but am getting errors lately when trying to do so not sure why though but was able to get a few log files to post even though it showed errors such as 25.02.20 10.48.24 <--> 24.02.20 22.29.28 jdlog://6460715302851/

Yes there were a ton of files I think around 99 packages I was testing with yea I got carried away too ...

I have attached a few pics and one of the error logs when trying to make the log to send also. Something is odd and I have not figured out what the issue is other than something in JD maybe is not working properly lately at least with youtube and grabbing files all at once or downloading them also .

oh one of the links I was trying to grab was from **External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff** and it showed supposedly 175 links in that playlist group but of course only around 10 were grabbed before i had to restart jd again and again and also I had to let them switch through the browser when I recopied and pasted or when i had to tell JD to disable and re-neable the clipboard grabs.

NP I can wait and can always use another method to dl them if really needed. just bothers me more atm that when trying to create a log it is giving the errors also and not completing properly or saying oops too big for whatever reason. but as I said also I had some 99+ packages and that may have choked your ends ul status or something built into the app .. I also tried to zip and rar up the screen shots I had which is a ton more through through that testing cycle, but both were too large to upload to you all through here so o well. I know I have never had to upload anything that big ... around 2.4 MB of screen shots .. smh lol

Just hope you all can figure out appropriate fixes etc least for my OS's atm as I am not updating to the newer OS's due to RL issues too such as oh I need a new machine now, etc. because everyone is updating theirs.

I was trying to download some youtube videos, and needed to install ffmeg to continue, I did that. But now when I try download a video it separates audio and video into two different files. How do I download it as one file with both video and audio? The video is unlisted instead of public if that makes a difference

the folder its downloaded in contains a .m4a audio file, .mp4 video files and a .jpg thumbnail

You can see the attachment to see what I mean. I've used online audio/video mergers in the past but I have a few hour+ long videos that can't be uploaded I want to save

I had no idea most people should use VLC player. Thanks a lot for the tip, they can be played now. There are some videos that won't get downloaded in 4K even though it is on YouTube.

Well at least in my opinion they should.

It is similar to:
- The included Microsoft Internet explorer is not good - use Chrome or Firefox [this is actually a bit outdated - their new Edge isn't that bad anymore]
- The default photo Viewer app is bad, slow and lacks features --> Use IrfanView

One reason is that the uploader didn't upload it as a 4K to begin with more than likely as 4K is much bigger than 1080, they may have not had the disk space themselves or decided to not put a strain on their systems or the end users systems too not to mention the BW that one might need to actually view such via youtube chat might also cause delays and extra buffering, etc.

Yes Youtube now allows for 4k but it doesnt mean everything will be dl'ed and converted as such.

There are several factors involved with 4k such as codec being used and compression too of course. Whle not getting too overly technical, the simple answer is a two hour 1080p HDR Movie in good to great clarity would be 800mb to 1200mb averaging to 1GB. A 4K movie is usually 2.5GB to 4GB, but can be as large as 20GB on many sites.

A one minute of 1080p at 30 frames per second video requires 130 MB, a 4K video at the same frame rate would require a 375 MB.

That being said of course, this is very general as compression and quality make a huge difference. Movies on these sites are usually compressed with minimal loss of clarity. If filming with a video camera on 1080p or 4K two hour files would be much larger.

When it comes to youtube and what one gets well I usually just try to grab the default for the individual share there. I don't really try to up size them as the case would be from what your asking as that would also degrade the Clarity of the end viewing pleasure.
