Default How do you save files/links in categories?

How can you save files/links in categories? I know you can because I copied 3 links from the same host and JDownloader created a package with the 3 files under the one package. I don't quite get what a package is. Having categories like other download managers would make it easier.

This is what I am talking about.

A package is a collection of links and in JD it's displayed like a folder.
Links for which JD thinks that they belong together will be automatically added to a package.
In future JD versions (after the next MAJOR update) you will be able to customize downloadpaths and so on.

Does that mean you will be able to change the file name? Like "Save as" then choose your which directory then be able to change the file name as you want? If so that is something else I was going to ask. I would like to be able to change the file name of the file I was downloading. Would like to change the folder too, "Save to".

You can change the file destination (rightclick chose downloadpath) but you can't change the filename yet.
Wait for the next MAJOR update (some months to go), test and give us feedback.

You can already customise the download path for a package in the current version of jD.

@bobbyb

There is an extension called "JD Package Customizer" that you can use to make packages automatically based on regular expressions.

Please, read "rename b4 download" and "categories".
