Default Request: Conditional Reconnection Feature

Sometimes JD downloads at a very low speed from hosters (I experienced it a lot on Netload). Since it takes much longer than normal to download, there is not any auto-reconnection. So you need a manual reconnection that solves the low speed problem. Surely, it becomes a problem when you leave pc at night.

So, an add-on that reconnects if the download speed stays below X kb/s for Y seconds.

Some ideas about the add-on:
configurable speed limit
configurable time interval to flush the total seconds that was below the limit
configurable time limit that will reconnect if the speed stays low for a total of X secs
configurable max. reconnection tryings
configurable max. reconnection trying flusher interval
download interrupting checkbox
minimum or maximum number of download limit for interruption to happen

That is actually very essential, it is most probably also a problem for another people. It is so irritating.

Cool

I think the issue is more complicated than you describe it. The fact that a particular download is 'slow' depends on many factors and demands a really intelligent approach.

IMO statistical traffic analysis might take away some of the manual parameterisation.

I hope it will not be difficult, just need to use the total download rate, the one which is already shown on graph and the parameters I wrote. I hope they can manage this for a complete automated downloader.

If the total dl is below a specific value JD will reconnect inerrupting all downloads (interrupting option should be added)

i was just about to post a request for more or less the same thing; how about a setting where we can tell JD to stop slow connections, or better yet, to stop a download that is slower than a speed we specify?

[ x ] Kill downloads with speeds less than [xx] kb/s.

it doesn't have to be too complex -- I would also be happy with just a:

[ x ] Kill abnormally slow downloads.

where any download under 15kb/s (or whatever) stops...

Cool

Because of the lack of programming resources, this feature hasn't been considered yet.
