what resolution are you using exactly and what display are you using (monitor/tv/projector)?

i'm using a Surface pro 3, the display is 12" and the resolution is 2160 x 1440.

all the icons are blurry, happen the same with the old version of jDownloader.

Hi,

Please check by increasing the value of the advanced setting: SyntheticaSettings: Font Scale Factor
I'm talking abut JD2.

In addition, post some screenshots of the problem.

i have tried to change the settings in both ways(increasing and decreasing the value), and the result is even worst.

with the settings at 100 the text size is right, but the icons and the text looks blurry.

this is the screenshot, i hope you can see the problem.

When you did the screen grab of the whole screen, what was the resolution of the image? If you didn't grab the whole screen, do so and report back the resolution.

I'll explain after you post the value. I have a hunch, but need to see that value.

My hunch was correct.

Image is 1620x1080. Monitor is 2160x1440.

Because you are not displaying in the monitor's native resolution, it is upscaling and that results in the fuzzy image.

That is a weird monitor to be only 12" and be 2160x1440. It isn't even 16:9.

Reset your graphics card to 2160x1440 and all should be better.

On my 1920x1080 monitor, the output is nice and crisp.

The upscaling of the image by the monitor will always be a little fuzzy.

That said, a screen grab will always be what the graphics card is sending to the monitor. So, I'm not sure why it isn't crisp. My point about monitor upscaling is still valid.

Like I said, my display is nice and crisp. The graphics card has the nVidia chipset, running under Linux. I run native monitor resolution. I even use the VGA port (needed because of the KVM) and that doesn't even have any issues.

My monitor is set up correctly to his native resolution(2160x1440), probably in the upload process the image was compressed. the image that i took was 2160x1440.

the aspect ratio of the screen is 3:2 (i know it's strange).

i have an external monitor attached too, the external monitor is 24" 1920x1080 and it look well on the external monitor.

this is another screen capture, this time i have uploaded it on the cloud.

this is the link **External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff**

as you can see the windows element look more sharper than the JD2 interface.

I wondered if that happened.

Is this computer a laptop? Interesting that the external connection looks fine, while the internal laptop monitor doesn't. That is confusing.

Unfortunately, the link is blocked to me.

I'm at a loss as to what is happening. On my XP laptop, JD2 has no issues, i.e., nice and crisp there as well.

probably the problem is for screen with high pixel density.

Could be, but I find it a little strange.

Considering that the screen is only 12" (diag) and at such a high resolution, I'm surprise that you can even see the fuzziness.

Good luck in trying to figure this out.

Thanks for the link via PM.

I looked at the image in Photoshop and see something that may be of a help for developers.

Normally a display uses 72 dpi, but this display is using 143.993, or roughly 2x the normal 72 dpi. I wonder if JD2 has an issue with the non-standard dpi.

it's a problem with everyone that have an high density display. Windows by default increase dpi density to avoid very very small text but programs needs to support it. If they don't windows scale the image and the result is blurry. Almost all programs had this problems. chrome solved switching to directwrite..

Hi Frenk,

I guess that I had the same issue (or a similar one) after having upgraded to windows 10.
The possible graphical resolutions obviously changed in windows.
I had then to take a much higher resolution than the native one for my screen, and JD (JD2) appeared blurred.
I could solve it by going to JD properties, compatibility tab, and flagging the 2nd olption in the settings "deactivate auto-scaling for high-resolution screens" (sorry for the approximate trandslation from the French option).
Not sure that this will help you, but thayt solved the issue I had.

Cheers
