Default JDownloader.jar - Kaspersky false positive

Hey board,

maybe that's a bug related thing. I am not sure.
Kaspersky says, JDownloader.jar is infected. You can test it yourself by uploading the file here (Kaspersky Virus Desk):

On my PC (Kaspersky Free 2019) it detects an UDS:Trojan.Win32.Badur. I've used the latest installer from the website. And added the JD folder to exception list.

It's a false positive. JDownloader.jar is a java file and seems like Kaspersky doesn't like JDownloader opening connections/downloading stuff. Very likely you've downloaded an infected file in the past and JDownloader.jar being that downloader -> it must be bad.
I tested with 4 different versions and all are clean. So very likely it's caused by the installer being on any list.
Did you try installer from here? http://jdownloader.org/jdownloader2
Is this about the installatino process or the installed version?

I've used this installer: http://jdownloader.org/download/index

And it is not caused by the installer - it is caused by a file scan of the install folder after the installation has finished.

Now I just used the installer link that you've posted and everything is fine again. Well that's strange!

Thanks for the feedback! and Welcome to random 'false positive' land

after installation of both different installers, the JDownloader.jar file holds the same content (zip file)

Question Why there are two different download links?

Why there are two different download links:

JDownloader 2
https://jdownloader.org/download/index

and

JDownloader 2 Adware-free Setup
https://jdownloader.org/jdownloader2

and should I choose Java 1.8 or 11?

Because our users can choose between installers with- and without adware.

Just to make it clear, only the windows installer from normal website comes with optional adware. Also see
