Default special characters being renamed by ADDON !?

have you ever been thinking about some ADDON that can be activated on purpose for renaming?

ADDON should be about special characters being renamed if ADDON is activated. ADDON can have some default special characters list and custom fields to define renaming separately.

for example

á é í ó ú renamed a e i o u
ä ö ü renamed ae oe ue

custom fields are recommended to be able to rename very special characters for its own needs... some of us like to work with blanks ' ' or underlines '_' some replace all by hyphen '-'

There is a pending ticket (#83699) for this feature. Currently it can be done using eventscripter script.

You can replace/remove characters using the JS replace() function and rename the file using the eventscripter rename() method. There is an example script in this thread.

There are many examples in stackoverflow and github which make use of this function to replace wide/full range of diactrics in a string. If you are looking to replace only a few/limited characters you can define such a map yourself.

If you want any help customizing/creating the script, feel free to post you queries.
