JDownloader wouldn't update, now won't install
JDownloader2 has been working fine for a while (Win 10). Yesterday it kept telling me it could not update, and to wait a couple of hours, and then either contact support, or re-install if the problem did not resolve. It did not work by the end of the day, so I decided to un-install and re-install. Both the adware version of the installer and the clean installer crash and fail after numerous "can't connect to the Inrernet" messages. (It still fails after deleting the AppData\Local folder as well.)
I can keep clicking cancel/next until it gets to the "download version information..." screen. When I cancel the pop-up on that one, the install crashes. It says it can't connect to an URL like http://update.appwork.org/jcgi/pkg?rt=..... (ridiculously long string that won't fit on screen) At that point, I get a dialog with the options "ok" and "show log file." Clicking either terminates the install, and the show log option opens an empty text file. Anyone have any ideas? |
