Duplicate downloads
I have packages, each with several mirrors of a file.
When a download completes, I rename the file and process it. Later however, JD starts downloading another copy from one of the mirrors. Even though the first download is marked 100% with a green tick, so I thought the package was inactive. See screenshot. The filerio link had completed some time earlier. It was halfway through the duplicate 1fichier one when I stopped it. This behaviour seems wrong. I know the workaround, delete or disable the mirrors manually when I move the file. I prefer to leave them up till I have checked the files in case I need to redownload. If JD didn't often come to a dead stop because it mistakenly believed it had already downloaded a file, I wouldn't be so annoyed. But it gets it wrong both ways. And here's the link for the whole package: **External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff** Last edited by Gweilo; 02.08.2013 at 20:55. |

Hi Gweilo,
are you renaming with package customiser rule or manually by hand?

Where is the "package customiser"? I don't see it under "properties". |

Yea sometimes I move or delete a file and it gets redownloaded :( One should figure that all in a package with the same file name should be marked done when done?

@gweilo
package customer is in settings, you can do relatively basic filename renaming within package customer rules. @ I'd say after rename/move/delete its no longer on disk (mirror/dl checks are most likely referencing savepath\filename, each time mirror present) that it will download again. I'd don't have time to check the source, but fairly confident that's the reason. For now, I wouldn't rename until you have moved down the package and the mirrors have been disabled. Hopefully Jiaz or Coalado will read this thread on Monday and give some feedback.

If the user wants to redownload, he will reset the link. I don't think JD was dong this before, but with the current GUI it's much more tedious to clean up completed packages. I used to have a button to delete completed packages, another to delete dead links. That kept things simple and neat. Now I have to go through a bunch of submenus and guess what various options mean next to a broom button to do that and then it doesn't work as expected half the time and I have to go back to selecting and deleting links individually, which is error prone. So I just leave all the links in the download tab until they are all completely done and delete them all. Last edited by Gweilo; 03.08.2013 at 11:00. |
