Default Server Error

Every time I try to download Filesonic links it says server error even though I've tested them as working in Firefox. I then need to Restore JD every time to get it working again, but it just gives me the same error the next time I open it up. Am I forced to just constantly restore every time I want to download from Filesonic?

OK, again the problem with lost connection after days of peace. The whole Filesonic and your forum as well, all of a sudden, offline including the web browser. Your software must be doing some weird things with the router but I have turned off the Reconnect button. The only solution is to reset the whole PC. Imagine this happens in the middle of the night when I am asleep.

If your reconnect script doesn't work your computer might indeed stay in a disconnected state. In that case I recommend to disable the automatic reconnect feature.

Having speed issues? read this!

@tommik

I recommend to :-

1) Allow java and javaw in your firewall and virus software. Disable (or un-install) the html/web download scanner in your virus software.

2) Reduce the Max.Con. setting (bottom right corner of jD window) to 1. Reset the affected links.

Cool

Please provide some example links.

If you can download with your browser, I recommend to :-

1) Allow java and javaw in your firewall and virus software. Disable (or un-install) the html/web download scanner in your virus software.

2) Reduce the Max.Con. setting (bottom right corner of jD window) to 1. Reset the affected links.

I am using ESET Smart Security - how do I allow java in that software? It seems to work fine 99% of the time btw. I have my connections set to 1 download link per different host + 2 streams per link + 2 downloads maximum generally. I don't want to go to 1 because it reduces the speed of FileSonic.

If you don't know how to use the virus I would ask its developers.

If you increase the number of simultaneous downloads and decrease the number of connections (to 1) your speed will increase, because jD doesn't support dynamic chunking.

I didnt specify the link since it is located in the log file.

here it is: **External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff**

the link works in browser.

Any other link i try in jd, it works.

I changed max conn to 1, the problem still persists!

Those links work fine. If you can download them with your browser something is blocking jD or your jD is not up to date.

I recommend to :-

1) Allow java and javaw in your firewall and virus software. Disable (or un-install) the html/web download scanner in your virus software.

2) Reduce the Max.Con. setting (bottom right corner of jD window) to 1. Reset the affected links.

3) Restart jD twice.

4) Exit jD and launch jdupdate.jar in your jD program folder.

Ok I found the problem. The Ad Muncher program was blocking javaw. I told it not to filter javaw and now it works fine. Thanks for the help!

This is a report of strange behaviour: FileSonic was not downloading anything giving the errors: Temporarily unavailable...? Now it works since I logged in on their web page... Why did I have to log in to my premium FileSonic account in my web browser to get rid of these error messages in JDownloader? I have my FS premium account enabled all the time in JDownloader... I don't understand what is the connection between Google Chrome and Jdownloader.... but it works now.

@robvlc
your isp is messing with you, the log shows that your ip changed during the request. seems your isp is blocking filesonic, maybe transparent proxy or iwf filterlist

will contact filesonic tech about this

Default 2011-07-20: Plugin error (out of date)

I'm getting this error on all Filesonic links, even though every one can be downloaded from a browser. It wasn't the case perhaps a week ago.

Default Have Filesonic premium, why captcha?

Lately, I am seeing a lot of these captchas and I'm about to pull out the last strand of hair.

I thought premium accounts have free access. (Well duh, I paid for the service.)

Check if account is active and marked as valid.
If it's marked as invalid check if you have special chars in the password, if so remove them.
If that doesn't help please send the account to me via PM.

Both username and p/w were stored in jD so no problem arose on that end. What happened was FileSonic premium got disabled. How that happened, I have no idea.

But once enabled, everything was back to normal. Now I can let what little I have on my head to grow in peace. You see that hair too?

@peachfuzz
Yeah i see it :D
By the way whenever you can't start simultan downloads and you have premium the premium account is either disabled because the password is wrong or because the traffic is gone and JD switches to free mode!

Default Filesonic: Impossible to ordinarily resume d/l with missed captcha

If I miss entering Filesonic's captcha, jD sets the download's status to "Plugin outdated, try restarting this link Download failed!" with the red stop sign next to it.

It's then impossible to resume it as it will immediately set the failed status again. The only workarounds are to either restart jD before trying to actually resume or resetting it, both very inconvenient.

Exclamation Network share and filesonic premium problem

Hi all!
I have long used JD and love its download functions. Great speed with multiple options not found in any other download manager.
Few days back I bought WDTV Live Hub, a mediaplayer with 1 TB NAS Storage and 1 GB network adapter. I was so happy, now I could just download everything directly to NAS, without first downloading to local harddisk. Experiments worked great for clients like utorrent, but failed miserabely with JD :(
I am forced to use more than 1 connection to get myself good download speed from filesonic premium. But at once I choose this option, all downloads hang and JD freezes completely. If I choose only 1 download connection per file, it works fine, but downloads extremely slow. I have tried other download managers as well (IDM), which all went very well when downloading directly to NAS with FS Premium. Now the question is; why can't javabased application like JD download with multiple connections to a NAS drive? I remember javabased rapidshare manager client had same issue :(

Any help?

Allow java and javaw in your firewall and virus software. Disable (or un-install) the html/web download scanner in your virus software.

What about a complete and detailed log?

make sure you mount the drive and do NOT use \\ip\ as folder
also note that such devices are not that good in performance and many downloads+connections can cause high load on them = bad write performance.
check firewall/av. they are often causing issues too

@misc

I'm not a tester but in the stable version Resetting (not Resuming) a link should work. Did you already try that?
