this is a 4-years JDownloader user

so rapid response for questions
big interest in new suggestions

these are my suggestions:



1- can you please add an option
that if i marked or chosed or activated it
jdownloader will reconnect after each compleated download
without waiting for the site i'm downloading from to tell
me , force me to wait so jdownloader has to reconnect by itself

why that??
if i'm downloading a 600-900 megabyte file from
for example megaupload site as a free user
it will let jdownloader to download the first link
but during downloading the 2nd one that's where is problem appears
because as free user can only download a maximum 1 giga/day
so on 2nd link when i go beyond the allowed size the link
automatically become disabled!!!
here it become so clear the importance of that choice
i'm asking for
when downloading large files from such sites it will reconnect
after each completed so nothing will be disabled
all will be happy !!!!.

2- add (Restart) option to (JD shutdown) menu
in extensions section
there're only (shutdown,standby,hibernate and close JD).

3- add option (start automatically when windows starts up)
instead of adding this option manually to registry editor
or by using programs like (your unistaller ,,,)since we need it every time we format our windows.

4-- add {restart after (x) number of links/downloads}.....we determine that (x) No.

N.B. :-
first restart (in No. 2) is after complete downloads
while this other option is needed after certain No. that we determine.

5-- add (auto re-enable) for disabled links either all disabled links or certain package that
we collect these links in it to be ready for choosing for re-enabled.

still for thousand times i'll repeat it
internet download manager is so faster than my be-loved JD
why is that?!!

i calculated by stopwatch the same link while being downloaded by both programs
in several links , sites , times
still beating our JD

this is not all
IDM takes nearly the whole entire speed for itself either started downloading before or after JD , decrease or even freezes browzers speed since it consumes it all sor itself..

no one say it is the same,,, for the last 3 years i've been watching both in this issue closely--so some one tells me why??

sorry for being persistant or even bad!!
i'll continue fighting till our JD becomes the ever best on of its kind
prove that open source will always beats monopoly in knowledge

IDM is of absolutly no interest.

It cannot deal with one click hosters and is only a better replacement of build in browser functions. No one using JD cares on IDM speed as IDM is no help at all.

Just use it for the few files it can load and be happy.

If your reconnect feature is properly configured this should already happen.

Do you mean Restart of PC or Restart of jD?

Every operating system has it own way to do this. It's sufficient to put a batch file in the Startup folder of Windoze and jD will start up together with Windoze.

Could you please explain why you need that. I think jD's reconnect feature tries to optimise the downloaded volume.

This is the automatic retry feature that's still missing. It has been discussed many times. For instance, look at this state diagram for jD and read its surrounding discussion.

read remi's link and make sure you setup your firewall/av right. i could prove everytime that slow speed was caused by other software interfering with jd

1st of all, each point in my notes is based on a long term use , try , experience with both this issue , JD
my reconnection script is working perfectly
but....
read the following , you will get my idea

megaupload let me download as from my counrty egypt only 1 Gb /day as a free user
this is not a problem if i am downloading a 1 gb links or any links that can be devided from it like 100 , 200 , 500 mb
but when i am downloading a 600 mb file , well , the first link downloaded normally , it starts downloading 2nd one but when reaching the 400 mb of the 600 mb of the 2nd link now i reached the daily limit as a free user then the megaupload site made one of the 2 following options as it chosed , i have experienced them both
either decreases my downloading speed to a too slow speed
or cut off my download it becomes disabled on our JD
so when i wake up in the morning i found 1st link downloaded , 2nd link 400 of 600 mb downloaded and disabled , 3rd link downloaded comletely , forth link like 2nd link , so on!!

so i wanted an option if i activated it in JD before starting the whole downloading it will
reconnect after each download either the site asked or it did not

the same action needed for ifile.it site since it continue downloading your links without any probleams or asking for reconnection till you reach your download limit then it gives you a captcha to enter , JD cannot resolve it , must be intered manually so if i chosed to reconnect after each download it will not give me this captcha

other point :--

re enable some disabled links , restart of JD or windows...

why??

site like hotfiles , got many servers with diferent behaviours with
free users

some gives always captcha to solve (JD cann't solve it)
some gives captcha for large files only
some gives captcha after several downloads , or in certain times in the day

all thes options happened with me!!!
so after many wrong capcha solvings(JD never read it right)
link becomes disabled
that is why i need the re-enabling feature in JD either with
restarting only JD or the whole windows
since as a free user each time i try to download the links the site
aim me to a different server chosed randomly so it may got lucky and JD
will be targetted to that server with no captcha

the option restarting windows especially for refreshing the whole system
since i may travell for 3-4 days leaving JD to download tons of files with no one to stop it , restart windows manually !!
like next week by the way !!!..

Lol for ur captcha problems get a premuim account. Problem solved

If you don't want problems with captchas stopping your downloads you also try the "addon for decaptcher.com service" or captchatrader.com. At captchatrader.com you also have the option of mutual captcha solving. In exchange for more work you'll be able to leave jD alone.

Concerning your MU problem. Isn't it sufficient to Resume your failed downloads the next day when the counter of 1 GB is reset?

and i got a premiums in both RS , FF sites since both are the most of my interrest in my country , middle east and i don't have to buy premiums in each site i got some files on ,, if u both are of big interrest on internet u foe sure have met this accidential happens of some sites to got your attention for a week or even two cause you finally found some files on it after a loooong journey of searching the web ,, that's me now with both
filesonic , fileserve sites the last week

asking for codes not for money neither for being pushed to turn generous on paying for sites !!!

so please next time reply as professional programmer or leave answers for specialists

my little sister , the last one is a web designer , knows java well , some programming
she did some modifications , now i got my own version , not hacked but modified
she simply added 2 buttons for now
- start with windows startup
- reconnect after each completed download

soon after i return from my trip , god willing i 'll upload the version
may be some one got interrested

i do really loved it ...that stone thing... keep yours you may need it soon

1.) start with windows: simply put shortcut into autostart folder of windows
2.) reconnect after each download- not needed, your traffic limit issue should already work with nightly version of jd.
