All tests done, none of them worked. Starting JD from terminal is better to see the log, but I haven't read anything relevant in there.

btw for those interested I remember testing this (when I reported it) in both Xorg and wayland, and they both failed.
so I dont think it is X related and also in my experience wayland is not stable (weird-bug free) at all, so please do all the tests in XOrg.

btw in you have manjoro instead then you can use mpv. can you do all these test with a mpv-git version?
because those issues reported in mpv that you referenced are too new to be sure they are patched in normal release.

case in point:
I tested with mpv-git and it works.
so what ever causes this is patched in mpv. and it is not xdg or jdownloader fault.
I think we can close this issue.

Thank you very much for the feedback and taking your time/will to test latest version of mpv! Also thank you very much for commenting on

@pintassilgo: maybe you could also test mpv-git version and see if it works for you as well?

Uninstalled mpv from pamac and installed mpv-git from AUR. I can confirm the issue was fixed in mpv side, now it works.

Just remembering this threade also reported another issue that wasn't fixed yet: on my machine (Manjaro KDE X11), JDownloader can't restore its windows after being minimized to tray.

@pintassilgo: thanks for the feedback. I will have to add some debug messages and then ask you again for new logs. I will inform you once the update with debug logs is live, okay?

I use archlinux btw
its aur system allows a noob like me to test a non repo package almost as easily and a official packaged app.
so it was not much work.
