Yeah I'm running into this same problem. It seems IG is cracking down more, because I just used to get booted out after using JD on a large profile and had to do a challenge to log back in. Now it's rejecting the login with that same error and you need to use the cookie login method. But, after two more times getting booted out, with the cookie method, they just deactivated my account without warning! I had to "verify" my account with a sign picture just to get it back!

I've had two accounts get limited to the cookie login method recently, now a third. I've just deactivated the JD login for now and am using the browser inspector manually, which is a pain, but I don't want to go through that verification nonsense again, or maybe risk losing the accounts entirely.

Next update will disable "normal" login completely and only allow cookie login as there is too much trouble with the "normal login" and Instagram can change the login process at any time, breaking the "normal login" method.

Ok, but the cookie method still got my account deactivated, even after I limited the number of posts it would crawl, so it seems they're cracking down more.:unsure:

The cookie login method is just another login method it doesn't do anything against account bans.
If you want to learn more about possible measures against account bans please search our forum for other Instagram related threads as I've answered such question multiple times.

TL;DR: There are no reliable ways to prevent account bans as the IG detection alorithm is a black box

Thanks Jiaz. Yeah for public accounts that would work fine, but not for private ones where you need a real account to become a follower.

Once they are onto an account it is over, you have to move to another one and consider all future accounts disaposable, I've learned the hard way.

I can't confirm that.

The account I've used for a lot of tests and JDownloader development has survived so far although it got temporarily blocked multiple times.
