Default JDownloader is very slow to respond.

Hi!
JDownloader isn't a very fast app even on windows, but on linux the GUI is VERY slow to respond. I need to hover the cursor for at least 3-5 second before it changes so I can drop the link, on windows I can do this as soon as I change to the JD window. But not just this, everything. I click a button or any other element on the gui I have to wait 3-5 seconds every time. It annoys the hell out of me.

Oh, yeah. Forgot the OS. Ubuntu 10.10, but it was the same with the previous 1-2 versions. The theme is the default, since I didn't change anything related. Not sure which java version. I see openjdk-6-jre(6b20-1.9.2-0ubuntu1) and related packages installed and icedtea.

DO NOT use openjdk its slower, buggier
please use sun-java

1.) enable partner repo
2.) sudo apt-get install sun-java6-jre
3.) sudo update-alternatives --config java
3.1.) select sun java

openJDK is free and open source, while sun/oracle jdk is not.
The openJDK was created based on the jdk sources sun released a while ago (so both should be pretty much the same), but there might be stuff that was left out.
