Default JDownloader not displaying files as downloaded

Hi,

JDownloader is still downloading as normal but every time I restart JDownloader now it shows the files it has downloaded as if they still need to be downloaded. I would really appreciate a solution to this.

Thanks in advance.

The status of your downloads hasn't been saved.

Move jD to a folder like c:\progs\jdownloader and check whether all protections are removed, also on the sub-folders.

Reinstall JD in a directory such as c:\progs\jdownloader. Then copy the contents of the config subdirectory from the old copy of JD to the new copy of JD. The installer deals with protections, except where the OS security system causes serious bugs.

Also, make sure that you wait for the Javaw task to exit before turning off your computer. You might not be giving it enough time to save the database.

I didn't suggest that at all. How do you do that?

I'll rephrase it myself. Move the jdownloader folder out of that protected path and remove all the write protections of that folder, including the sub-folders.

OOPS, I messed up that entire message. I will fix it.

I am sorry remi.

I was trying to stress that moving the JDownloader directory from c:\program files (x86)\ or a similar directory is not as effective as installing JDownloader in the new location.

That's possible. Note that some people don't install but extract the .zip archive.

If I end up shutting the computer down before the Javaw task is finished, is there a way I can get jDownloader to sync the files in the download list to show their actual download amount?

The reason I ask is because jDownloader froze when it almost completed the download of two files (1Gb each)

jD saves its download status to a database on your disk every 10 minutes and when you exit jD. If jD can't save that data because of a forced exit or whatever other reason you'll probably lose status data.

If you're experiencing freezes, please provide the necessary info to analyse your problem. This info and the instructions are described in the sticky threads of this forum.

It happened twice, and I have a feeling it was because the computer went into sleep mode while downloading. When it 'woke up' it probably tried resuming. I tried reproducing it since, unsuccessfully.

Thanks for the info thought.
