Unhappy jD is blocking my internet connection completely

Hi Guys! I have a problem whereby when I am using Jdownloader with a premium account to download files I find that on performing a speed test my download speed goes to the max allowed. Let's say 500Mbit. However, when i am downloading with jD with 1 chunk, 1 download connection, my speed is around 200-300Mbit. But that's not the problem, but the problem is that even i have left 200-300Mbit, my connection is completely blocked. When i want to open a page in a browser it opens after 10-15seconds, the whole connection is very unresponsive. I've download the same file with IDM with 3 conn's and it goes to full 500Mbit but the system is reponsive. I can browse or do whatever i want with the bandwidth, ongoing download doesn't use the whole bandwidth. QoS isn't installed in the system and there's no option in router to enable/disable it. When I stop or pause downloads in Jdownloader my speed goes back to normal. So it's clearly the jD blocks my connection?!

It started to happen few weeks ago.

Can anyone offer a reasonable explanation as to the possibilities of why this problem could be occurring?

Thank you so much for your assistance

This might be caused by the DNS server in your router being overloaded.
Try this:
- Change the DNS server on the device where JDownloader is running, see: https://support.jdownloader.org/de/k...nge-dns-server
- Set a speed limit in JDownloader and see if that helps (see bottom right corner in the download tab)

Reasons why this problem may not occur with IDM: IDM might already use a custom DNS server for the http request it is doing.

Thank you pspzockerscene for the quick feedback.
I've already did that before in the internet properites dialogue for this connection but it's still the same.
I've tried to limit download speed to even few kb/s but it's the same.
jD is just actively blocking connection..strange issue.

I don't understand. What did you do?

Which OS are you using?
Did you change your DNS server already?

I've changed DNS server, windows 10 latest updated. Same.
I've noticed it happens often when the large file is downloading..

@bugnotme: can you ping websites, eg jdownloader.org or google.com in cmd.exe when this happens? do you have packet loss?
Also please check cpu usage with taskmanager and provide a screenshot of the about dialog of JDownloader, see https://support.jdownloader.org/de/k...tion-directory
