I have to open them one bye one (PHP download function) and copy the URL so that linkgrabber will catch the image URL and not it's thumbnail

Example:
In this forum URL **External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff**
this thumbnail **External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff** with this action **External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff** would lead to this image **External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff**

You can make use of Linkcrawler rules to automatic remove the *thumbs* from URL to directly download the full size image.
You can also create Linkcrawler Rule to support the download URL and fetch the correct image from beginning.
Either try creating the rule(s) yourself (use board search) or send me logins/example links and I can try to help with creating them.
