Default JDownloader fails to start since the last update

Last night, JDownloader autoupdated, and since then, it refuses to start. It just opens the splash screen, does all the loading and freezes when it reaches the point where it should actually start the GUI.

I'm running the latest JRE on Win XP.

Any ideas?

Thanks

maybe this useful tip by user nick75 (thx!) could help you too ?! i hope he does't mind if i copy it :D

When upgrading from an older jDownloader Version JDHTTPLiveHeaderScripter.jar
isn't updated correctly and causes jDownloader to hang at startup.

Steps to reproduce:
-------------------
- Take an old installation of jd (mine was originally a 0.4 release that was
continously being updated to 0.5.917)
- Choose to install the latest updates when the update dialog pops up
- Start jd
- jd will display it's splash screen, but will not start. java.exe or javaw.exe
process will keep running unless it's being killed (tried letting it run
several hours!)

Workaround:
-----------

Delete JDHTTPLiveHeaderScripter.jar in the plugins folder.
