Default Could there be a roadmap or something?

Just wondering... if there's a chance that the team publishes some kind of roadmap... with the main features that you are planning to develop in the next releases...

The bug tracker is just not so informative for users who doesn't know java... or are not so into the code jD...

So... Thanks in advantage...

Bye

You do not need a login to read the Roadmap, Changelog, Activity, or Issues.

The Roadmap is not very helpful at the moment, because most of the issues are to be moved to future versions.

The Activity list shows Issues posted, Issue modification, and notes about revisions (check-ins).

The Roadmap only includes issues with an assigned version. Issues is the entire list of issues and is a search of all issues.

Changelog is a summary of revisions intended for users. The dates listed are the dates the revisions are checked-in, not when they are distributed.

Yep, I used to be able to read the roadmap, but now it asks for a login.

There was a typo. To access the JDownloader project, use:
http://svn.jdownloader.org/projects/jd
From there, you can get the Roadmap, Index, or Activity.
Roadmap: http://svn.jdownloader.org/projects/jd/roadmap

Many things have been improved, many bugs fixed and many features added.
Next BETA can be expected within the next 1-2 months (no official information).

We wanted to release an alpha this year but i'm not sure we can hold up to this. Alpha in 12/11 or 01/12 should be possible and then the beta....next major version is...already visible at the horizon

The "Nightly" branch is the current beta. Remember this is a test version, so backup your JDownloader directory before changing branches.

An official Alpha branch will be released in the future as our 'Next Major Update'. You can test this now by importing jdownloader and associated projects into your development IDE (eclipse/netbeans type environment) http://jdownloader.org/knowledge/wik...nt/get-started or wait for the next public release. This next major version will require a entire new install, it won't be possible to 'upgrade', and or carry over previous settings.

The closure of file hosts is not related to the release of versions. Versions are changes to the core of JD. Host plugins are separate. The only time when this doesn't apply is when plugin requires features from our newest version of jdownloader which is usually only possible by using the SVN version.

app work guys have said public alpha release this month, and this should be usable release just it still isn't completed in terms of what we wanted to achieve before release. Some major rewrites are required like with the download core, but this is our next window of opportunity before those take place.

What needs to be completed before alpha release in my opinion is.. the finishing off
- new API with a well rounded command set equivalent to remote control add which has been made redundant.
- new webui
- gui download tab context menus,
- gui settings
