AV1 converting/demuxing fails
Whenever I try to download a video from YT with the new AV1 codec, it fails at the converting/demuxing stage leaving behind a 0 KB .mp4 in the download directory.
The status then shows "Try restarting this link (plugin outdated?)". Example link: **External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff** Last edited by Jiaz; 04.10.2018 at 11:48. |

What ffmpeg version are you using? AV1 requires minimum ffmpeg version 4.0
Please provide a log, see https://support.jdownloader.org/Know...d-session-logs Create log after error has happened and post shown logID here

Thanks Jiaz, it was ffmpeg.
Updated the binaries manually to 4.0.2 and it works now. Since I never installed ffmpeg (have LAV filters tho, which are based on ffmpeg iirc) and they are found in the tools directory I thought that JD redistributes/updates them? If so, why were they outdated for AV1-muxing? |

Thanks for the feedback. AV1 shouldn't be available as option when ffmpeg version is too low. I guess I have to revisit the check routine. What os are you using?
AV1 is pretty *new* and the mp4 specification is even newer that it requires vlc nightly version to playback those files and very recent ffmpeg to mux them into mp4. That's why the current ffmpeg version cannot handle av1 right and I want to wait some time until the support in ffmpeg has matured enough

Cool, thanks for the update!
OS was Win10x64 Pro October 2018 Update (1809 or build 17763.1). Used **External links are only visible to Support Staff**MPC-HC 1.8.2 (1.8.3 just released a few hours ago, along with new LAV filters) which also uses recent LAV filters internally to decode AV1-videos. Still a lot of performance gains to be made since it's all on the CPU for now - for example with 1.8.2 and LAV 0.72-13 the clip I linked in the OP at 1080p froze/stuttered every 2 seconds starting at around the 0:15 timestamp. With 1.8.3 and 0.73 it plays smooth now. Last edited by Deuvv; 05.10.2018 at 19:32. |

Yes, I did some testing with vlc myself and plays real fine, even 1080p versions.
Thanks for the feedback!
