- close JD
- delete new folder "cfg"
- rename "cfg-backup" back into "cfg"
- run "JDownloader.exe"

I tested 2 time and it works fine for me.

If you have JAVA installed on your PC (which i'm sure you do) just double click the file and it'll be executed. If you see a winrar icon next to the file then that means you've added .jar support in winrar.

To disable .jar support in winrar.

Open Winrar. Go to Options -> Settings -> Integration

Here untick .jar, like this and press ok.

Guys! I think I got it, but need testing!

Just Install JD2 and Update until you get dat god damn error, then, download this zip file, and then, add the supossed missing files from this file to your jd location

First download Java it here (before to download Accept License Agreement):
_http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jre7-downloads-1880261.html

Install Java, and the run updater.jar

fixed it by:

1. uninstalling both java and jdownloader 2 completly.

2. installing Java Runtime Environment 1.7.0.11 (32-bit)

3. installing JDownloader 2 with this installer
http://installer.jdownloader.org/JDownloader2Setup.exe

worked fine for me

...only bad thing is I of corse lost my downloads queue
but i made a backup of my "cfg" folder; not sure I want
to screw up with that now tho

edit:

recovered my download list by replacing
the "downloadList###.zip" files from the "cfg" folder.

thx to Iram32 for confirming my doubts

i reinstalled both x86/x64 version of java6update38 and java7update11 and ttried the fixes posted (running updater, renaming cfg, rerunning updater posted by hacker676 and updater_rev1815 by lram32) with no luck.

are there any other options or do i need to do a full uninstall/reinstall with the new installers posted a page or so back? and if so, what do i need to back up in order to save my downloads to restore when i get it back up?

thanks guys

maybe you need to reintall JD2 and Java, It was the only option that works for Kuzutetsu.

To take a backup of your download list copy all downloadList##.zip
of the folder cfg and copy the files linkcollector##.zip, they are in the same folder (cfg).

But before to unistall JD and Java, try the solution of Josemsar (read the post #60, of this thread)

Josemsar's file worked at getting Jdownloader2 opened and running, thanks.

i copied the downloadlist##.zip and linkcollector##.zip files from my backup folder to my cfg folder but none of them appear to be loading with jd2. is there a cache i need to delete in order for jd2 to pick up the .zip files again and repopulate?

edit: i also made another complete copy of my jd2 backup folder and tried the fix again in that folder; this time running jd2.exe. jd2 opens fine again but nothing on the download/linkgrabber lists. thanks again for the help.

Default Problem with installing and updating jdownloader 2

Hey, so i've used jdown for a long time and i went to install on a new system tonight. Everything went fine and dandy until I decided to run the updates so that i could use my premium account. The updater told me that it was out of date and that it would download the new one and finish the update, no such luck. The updater crashed and upon trying again it seemed to finish the update. Wrong again, instead i got an error box with this on the inside:
Code:
org.jdownloader.update.launcher.JDLauncherFailedException: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/jdownloader/startup/Main
	at org.jdownloader.update.launcher.SecondLevelLauncher.launchJDownloader(SecondLevelLauncher.java:602)
	at org.jdownloader.update.launcher.SecondLevelLauncher.init(SecondLevelLauncher.java:465)
	at org.jdownloader.update.launcher.SecondLevelLauncher.runMain(SecondLevelLauncher.java:267)
	at org.jdownloader.update.launcher.JDLauncher.main(JDLauncher.java:19)
Caused by: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/jdownloader/startup/Main
	at org.jdownloader.update.launcher.SecondLevelLauncher.launchJDownloader(SecondLevelLauncher.java:583)
	... 3 more
Caused by: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: org.jdownloader.startup.Main
	at java.net.URLClassLoader$1.run(Unknown Source)
	at java.net.URLClassLoader$1.run(Unknown Source)

	at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(Unknown Source)
	at sun.misc.Launcher$AppClassLoader.loadClass(Unknown Source)
	at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(Unknown Source)
	... 4 more
No idea what to do as it happens every single time i try and run the program, Please help me!
